Awakening the Rejected Queen のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 71 - チャプター 80

Eden’s POV“Eden! Hello?”I opened my eyes. Someone was rapping on my door. Disoriented, I glanced around. I was in bed. It was morning.“EDEN!”Whoever it was sounded frantic. The knocks continued in urgent succession.“Eden! Are you awake? It’s me. Serena.”Serena? What was she doing pounding on my door like this first thing in the morning? A thought hit me then.Had Adrian not explained things to her? Last night? Was she still bitter and jealous towards me?What if…What if she wanted to duel? She’d been really hostile towards me in the past. She cut my dress. Then she tried to attack me…in wolf form! Several times. If she still thought that Adrian had feelings for me….well…Who knew what she was capable of?I walked to the door and opened it, just enough to peek out and see her.I expected to see a woman wild with rage. But instead, I saw a young girl with a sad, dejected look on her face.Oh…Serena.I swung the door wide open and motioned for her to come in.“Was it true?” she as

Eden’s POVAdrian left in a huff. He’d seen enough. He’d heard enough. It was perfect.Serena immediately went to follow him, but I grabbed her elbow. “Excuse us for a moment,” I said to Jacob.“Whatev,” he replied.I pulled Serenna to the corner of the room where Jacob couldn’t hear us.“Don’t go after him,” I whispered to Serena.“But you saw him. He was upset. I think…he misunderstood. I don’t want to train with Jacob. That’s the last thing I want to do.”“No, actually, it’s EXACTLY what you want to do.” I fixed her with a mischievous smile.“I don’t understand,” she said, shaking her head.“This is all part of the plan,” I told her.“What plan?” she whispered back.Jacob had returned to the window. His back was to us, with his hands clasped behind his back. He looked over his shoulder and winked at Serena.“You weren’t kidding when you said he’s a playboy,” I whispered.“This isn’t even the worst of it,” Serena sighed. “But I really need to go after Adrian. He looked so mad. I jus

Zane’s POVI smelled him before I saw him. His musky, obnoxious scent mingling with my sweet Eden’s bread cookies. He has his arm around her! He was leaning in to kiss Eden. MY Eden. Jealousy filled my heart. I didn’t think, I just reacted. I stormed across the room and flung him. He flew through the air and landed on the wall. Thud. He was dazed and went to stand, but I unleashed my Lycan aura. He froze to his spot on the floor. I glared at him. He trembled, unable to move. What a worthless wolf. A coward. Who was this man? Why was Eden flirting with him? Why would she want an inferior wolf like him?He wasn’t even worth his weight in fur. He was no rival for me. Has Eden lost her mind? I pulled Eden to her feet and looked into her eyes. Those gorgeous eyes. I inhaled her scent. Slade yipped around, happy that Eden was near. “Zane!” she said, her eyes wide and shocked. “You broke your promise,” I stated. “I…what…” she asked, disoriented. She looked at the useless wolf o

Eden’s POV“I…uh…just wanted to apologize.” Serena’s eyes were looking down at the floor. “I shouldn’t have snapped at you in the restaurant like that. I’m embarrassed by my behavior.”“It’s okay,” I assured her. I hadn’t known Serena very long, but if there’s one thing I knew, it’s that she was impulsive. She wore her heart on her sleeve and had a hard time hiding her emotions.“When Jacob asked if Adrian was…was into you…or whatever…I don’t know. I just sort of snapped. I…”“Honestly, Serena. It’s alright. I understand.”Because I did. I had a soft spot for Serena. She was young and naïve. A bit emotional, yes, and temperamental. But only because she loved Adrian. I could see where she was coming from. Adrian had doted on me at the restaurant. He was being protective because of the pregnancy, but Serena didn’t know that. All she saw was the love of her life caring for another woman.I got it. I knew what that felt like. And it didn’t feel good.“Would you like to come in?” I opened

Eden’s POVThe chains clanged. I struggled against them.Drip. Drip. That was the only sound – water on the cave walls.I've been locked in this cave for two days now.I was chained to the wall around my ankle. There was a bit of slack, but not much. I had a very limited area to move around in.A very dim lantern sat in the corner, beyond my reach. It didn’t cast much light. I could barely see.Occasionally, someone came in and pushed a plate of food towards me. A cup of water too. But it was too dark to see who it was.I had no idea how I got here. The last thing I remembered was having a picnic with Serena and falling asleep. I must have been kidnapped.I was worried about Serena. Had she been kidnapped too?I’d tried calling out her name, to see if she was chained up somewhere close by.But there’d been no answer.I was anxious for her. Dear, sweet Serena. Was she chained up too? Did she have food and water? Was she scared? Was she hurt?My stomach rumbled.I was no stranger to bei
