Alpha King Ozar. Yeri’s raven hair is cascading down her shoulders like a midnight waterfall. Her vibrant eyes are clouded with an unreadable emotion, her steps are not hesitant but they are not confident either. When my guard informed me of her presence, I was surprised. Despite being busy, turning her way didn’t come as a first option. A muscle clenches in my jaw as I look at her features, there is obviously something wrong. I was already standing when she walked in and therefore, I remain the stance. As soon as she stops in front of me, I watch as her hands grab a fabric of her skirt and slowly, she descends on her knees towards me. The folds of her gown pools around her like a defeated flag. Her head is bowed, and her hands are atop each other. “Get up.” I say, I don’t even want to know what it is about. I don’t want to see her on her knees, begging me or anyone else. “I won’t until you grant me my heart desire.” She says and I exhale, throwing a file unto the table. “Do not c

Lady Mehera.“The king left on horse riding with consort Yeri and the children.” Agnes says and the words are etched into my heart. But the only part that I really hear is where she said, “King Ozar left with Yeri.” I have prepared myself for this. I have told myself that it would be fine. I shouldn’t focus on what people say or what I see for I am after the king’s heart. It has only been a day since Yeri has joined the castle and I cannot breathe. Before I joined the castle, Agnes visited my mother and I, she wanted to give me familiarity about the castle and the way things work in the scope of royals. My mother had heard the rumours of Yeri and she confronted Agnes about it, she wanted to find out if it were true.Agnes words where, “King Ozar is a man who is disciplined and conservative. A woman cannot simply sway him like the winds do.” When I heard those words, I was delighted. If the king is a man who is disciplined, I can be assured that though he had an estate of harem women,

Alpha King Ozar.“I am sorry for walking in—”“It’s not your fault. It’s mine. That was a bad judgement on my part.” I say, completely embarrassed at the scenario at hand.“Of course…” Mehera says and I turn to walk away.“Will it always be like that?” She asks and I stop for a moment.“What?” I ask.“I—thought you and Yeri hated each other. At least, I thought you did…” She says.“I made her my consort for a reason.” I state and Mehera raises her eyes to look at me.“But still…she is the sister of your enemy. You are not supposed to be granting her wishes, here and there.”“So, why did you tell her about the amendment?” I ask and she blinks repeatedly.“I—”“I thought it was right for her to know.” Mehera says.“But it’s not right for me to grant her wishes?” I ask and she is quiet for a few seconds, I am giving her time to think and consider her words.“When I was given the honor to be your queen, I accepted, knowing you had an estate full of harem women whom I would share with you.

Princess Yeri.Mehera walks past me and I squint my eyes in confusion. Just what is she going to? Regardless of what it is, I stay behind, feeding the rest of the parrots.“Consort Yeri?” Gladys says, coming back with together with Alice and another bowl of food for the parrots but I dust my hands. I think I am done for the day.“I think I am done for the day.” I say, turning to the girls.“The king back is to the castle. I saw him on my way in.” Gladys says in glee and Alice rolls her eyes, she is being protective over me.“I see.” I say, realizing he must have been the one that Mehera saw and rushed to meet.“I have to go. Agnes would be needing me.” Gladys says.“Thank you, Gladys.” I say and she leaves. I look over to Alice who is pouting and I scoop a bit of bird food and I gently toss it unto her face.“Princess!” She stomps and I chuckle.“Why does he have to be your mate?” She asks.“Maybe when you die, you can ask the moon goddess for me, huh?” I say, dusting my hands and wal

Princess Yeri.Draped in the softest fur of the king’s chamber, I lay still as a statue. My form is a perfect curve against the opulent bedding but my eyes, however, are twin pools of dark, watching intensely. Midnight has descended upon the opulent chamber, casting the room in a subdued glow from the silvered moon filtering through sheer curtains.Through that, I can see the rhythmic rise and fall of the King Ozar’s chest. Quickly, I ease my body free from his embrace. My movements are as fluid as moonlight on water—one would think that I have done this before. I slip into my nightdress; a gossamer cloud of silk and I throw a coat around my shoulders. As I descend from the huge bed, my bare feet made no sound on the thick carpet. I look back at Ozar and I wait for a moment. He is in-depth in sleep because he forfeited a good amount of energy during our act. I tighten the ropes of the dress around my waist and I begin to make into his study. The scent of musk, sandalwood and leather f
