They returned to the palace after Nora fell back asleep again; she couldn’t believe she’d gone for days with no food or water, relying only on her will to reach the Calhan pack. Rygan watched Elise from behind her stiff frame, her eyes bleak and empty with silence, not until his hand touched hers when she reached for the doorknob. *Will you be alright?* “I think so. I just need rest and time to think,” she assures him as she nods in understanding before letting her go into her chambers. His body itches to follow but turns away to his room. In his guest chambers, he busied himself signing papers and documents that Taz had sent to be approved. He busied himself for an hour or so before he turned to the windows to see the sky darken. Then rain begins to drizzle, and a crackling, loud snap of thunder shakes the sky as Rygan drops his pen. He recalls how thunder makes Elise feel about her mother, especially with what had happened earlier with Nora. He knew he needed to be by he

Elise had made up her mind to journey back to the Silver Night Pack, her childhood home. Rygan was all on board since she asked him to accompany her. But all the more His wolf was elated to be declared her mate; he could feel his love for her almost burst like a dam as he became ravenous to taste her again. They had shared most of the morning in bed, with Rygan taking his sweet time worshipping her body with endless lovemaking, Elise then takes the initiative, straddling her alpha and riding him as he palmed her breast. Her insides clench as her hips roll and grind on his cock as they both moaned; she’d then take his ring finger into her mouth, biting it enough that it drew blood. She then left an identical mark on his; it feels like their souls were entirely entwined as she’s accepted him as her mate. Their climax was more intense than usual, as they’d both cum with a blinding ecstasy. They didn’t stop there, as time and time again he buried himself into her wet, inviting

The raid had been successful, yet Elise couldn’t believe how badly in shape these prisoners were. The tortured cuts on their skin from being whipped were undoubtedly similar to the ones on Nora’s body. Elise feels another wave of rage flow through her; she watches as Brady releases the chains of the people as they climb out of the cage. “Thank you so much,” they cried out in relief. *Where are you?* She called for her mate, who had gone into the woods with Jax and Michale. *We are almost done burying the bodies*, he informed. She looked back at them, to the bruises and unsure gazes, afraid to come close, just like her when she was tormented by Kyren before. Elise moved forward, starting from a young boy not less than 13 years old. She laid her hands on his skin, and for a moment his eyes widened before they squeezed shut in panic, afraid she was going to hit him, not till he felt that warm sensation as his wounds began to close rapidly. She healed as many as she could in t

Elise had left Rygan with her beta, Jax, while she and Michale went ahead. There was clear tension in the air between the two males, but this was a mission; they were supposed to set all their differences apart, right? They infiltrated the main palace of Kyren’s home, the hallways bringing back horrific memories that Rygan hated to recall—the days when he was chained up like an animal, flogged, or forced to service those females. He knew he had to focus, and first of all, was to blend into the shadows. Then they struck, laying waste to Kyren's guards during the secret siege. They made sure not to be caught, and with Rygan leading them both, he made sure not to get caught, not until they reached Kyren's chambers and killed the bastard. “I had that; I could have killed him off," Jax muttered the moment after Rygan had spotted a guard with a silver spear and killed him before he had the chance to attack Jax. He snarled at the alpha, whose eyebrows raised in irritation, questionin

Kyren screamed in agony when his second and only good eye was ripped out by Elise; she was ruthless with no mercy, watching him squirm on the floor with all the girls watching. Most were in awe of what she had just done, while some were still terrified. Rygan stood in marvel and pride at his mate; she looked to Lorraine, whose gaze was met with shuddering relief. "You are all safe now; I assure you, you will be back home soon," she muttered to the girls, who began to cry and hug each other; only tears of freedom filled their hearts as they cried. Elise recalled her talk with Rygan back at the Silver Night Pack; for them to join the packs together, she was ready to take them in, and Rygan was too—a new world that they could have, a world filled with peace where even a wolfless fledgling can be treated as normal. "You will never be able to torment another woman ever again," she snarls. "Do you think you will all leave this place alive?" Kyren snarled, "You and all those girls
