Crucial Desires のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 21 - チャプター 30

--Day 1 of the Tournament--It was miraculous. I never thought that so many students were fond of games like these. They were going on for generations, that’s for sure. But I guess my thoughts of ‘the modern world taking over the supernatural one’ were rather stupid. We don’t lose faith in our morals and the way we used to live. We stick to our traditions. And we loved them.Ms Laura was calling out the rules. There were a total of 8 teams including ours. We were number 4 and Victoria’s team was number 1.“Okay, I’m a little scared,” Eve says while hopping up and down.“It’s okay, Eve, you don’t have to worry about anything. I’m here, aren’t I?” Dario speaks to her as he softly and awkwardly patted her shoulder. They both were weird and geeks, but they looked perfect together.“Okay, the university sure does change the whole cycle of the games every year, but there is one game that’s the most difficult. And that is the last one.”“That is?” I ask Max.“Getting in possession of the gre

“Hailey?!” I hear screaming and I knew I was dead. I closed my eyes and shielded my body with my own hands..before...“Hey, Grandpa!”Everyone looked around to see where the voice was coming from, but we couldn’t find anyone. The giant bunny ignored the voice and continued his process to crush me, but before he could see me, Jace had already picked me up and had me hide behind a tree with him.“Are you okay?!” Jace had his arms around me, he was practically holding me up like a baby. I could see his perfect crystal eyes, which were turning red.I knew that whenever a vampire is tensed or under pressure, their body reacts to the situation, implying a threat to others and automatically turning their eyes red.Jace finally settled me down, carefully addressing and securing the surrounding area. We were a few seconds away from the others. We could see our friends, but they didn’t know our location just yet.“Y-You saved me!?” I stare deep into Jace’s eyes. Suddenly, I realized that I had

The apprehension was growing as the trembling of the earth grew louder.“W-what do we do now, Jace?” I whispered to him. Before he could say or react, we catch a glimpse of the giant. It was....giant. He had two horns on each top side of his head. His eyes were big, his skin was dark brown, and his mouth was like a rogue wolf. I could see those big fangs coming out.The fangs weren’t the big issue here. The giant was. Even the small finger of its foot can kill us. The giant still didn’t know that we were here, so it’s a good sign.It turned around and walked right to us, taking the jar away, through which we were hiding. But it still didn’t see us.“Jace?” I call him. “Look, it’s braids. See that one on the left side? There’s a cloth that’s covering something.” Jace stared at the giant’s braids and figured, that is what we are looking for.“It’s the key! It’s tied to the giant’s braid!”“We found it,” I smile as I glanced at Jace, who was already melting in mine. “Good work, Hailey,”

I opened the door and revealed what was behind it. Sheer heaven. It was something I’d never seen before. That we all haven’t seen before.I walk in, and the others followed. I stare at all these orbs and crystals lying on the ground. It was the perfect reflection of the universe filled with stars. All these fairies, these birds, mystical creatures. Everyone was here.“We made it,” Eve says. And before anyone else could respond, our eyes lands on the shiniest star. The Orb.“It’s...beautiful,” say as we all make our way to the monument where the Orb was kept safe. We circle around it, holding hands.“Who wants to take it?” June asks.“It should be you, Hailey,” Jace replied, and everyone agreed.“Wh-what? Why me?!”“Isn’t that obvious? We won this tournament because of you, Hailey. Without your sharp thinking and courage, we couldn’t have come this far.“It’s not true, you guys. We all were in this together. We all did this together. Without your support and without you all believing i

--Hailey, please, don’t. It’s...it’s me.I could hear whispering, but my vision was blank. I could definitely hear Jace’s voice. But he was nowhere around me.“Hailey...Please... Look at me, it’s me.”Finally, I opened my eyes and saw Jace beneath my claws. I was in my werewolf form, not even knowing when I first turned.“What the?” Jace had one of his hands up on my neck in protection, and the other was held by me on the ground.“Jace?” I look around and find everyone staring at me. My Dad was there, all shocked because he still didn’t know about my transformation.“Hailey, baby? It’s alright. It’s us. It’s only us. Leave him, baby. He’s your friend.” Dad spoke to me in a soft voice, But I was...scared. I quickly took a steps back and ran away.“HAILEY!” I could hear Jace calling out to me.“I should go after her,” Jace says, but June stopped him.“Let her father go, Jace. It’s...it may be not our place right now.”I ran and went straight into my room. I jumped and crashed into my w
