All Chapters of Her thirst for vengeance: Chapter 831 - Chapter 840

Ivonne's povThe forest let me go just after sunset, and I walked out into the cold evening air expecting nothing except the quiet confirmation of what I already knew — that I had failed, that the trial was over, and that whatever came next was going to be decided by people who had been waiting for exactly this outcome.I made it two steps out of the tree line before Hector reached me.He had broken free of Thorin before I even fully registered he was moving, crossing the distance between us at a pace his injuries had absolutely no business allowing, and then his arms were around me and I stopped thinking about anything else.I held onto him with everything I had, my face pressed into his chest, and the sound that came out of me was embarrassing and I didn't care at all because he was warm and solid and real and I could finally touch him without hurting him, and after months of distance and vows and all the ways the world had worked to keep us apart, that simple fact felt enormous eno

Ivonne's POVI couldn't stop shaking and crying.Hector's arms were around me and his voice was in my ear saying things that were probably the right things, the things you say to someone who is falling apart, but none of it was reaching me properly.Because Denise was still lying dead and her hand was still in mine and I could not make myself let go of it."Ivonne," Hector said quietly. "Ivonne, look at me."I couldn't look at him. I couldn't look at anything except her face, which was still and peaceful in a way that Denise's face had never been in all the time I had known her, because Denise's face had always been moving .She was always laughing or arguing or rolling her eyes or doing that particular thing she did when she was pretending not to care about something she cared about enormously.I could recall how she blushed and became flustered when I finally got her to confess her crush on Sevrin. I remember the fire in her eyes when she vowed to love him no matter what, no matter

Ivonne's povThe darkness i had fallen into was warm, which was the first thing that told me I was dreaming.Real darkness, the kind I had spent most of the past several hours inside was cold and heavy and had weight to it, the kind that pressed down on you and made you aware of your own smallness. This was different. This was the darkness of somewhere that had decided to be peaceful on purpose, and as I stood in it and let my eyes adjust, I realised I recognised the quality of it.I had been here before. Multiple times. Always confused, always slightly afraid, always uncertain what I was looking at or why. This time I wasn't any of those things. She was standing several feet away, her back partially toward me, her ethereal gown catching light that didn't seem to have a source. She turned slightly, as if she had heard me arrive, and I looked at her face, the face I knew, the face that had always been uncomfortably the same as my own and I smiled."Lady Ivanna," I said. She turned fu

Ivonne's povSevrin, who had been standing near the door since they came in, crossed the room and did something that surprised everyone in it, including me.He went down on one knee, right there on the floor beside the bed, with a directness and a lack of self-consciousness that made the gesture completely serious."I owe you more than I can repay, Luna." he said, looking up at me. "You gave her back. Whatever you need from me, for the rest of my life — you have it.""Sevrin," I said, already reaching for his arm to pull him up. "Please stand up. Seeing the two of you in the same room and both of you breathing is payment enough. That's all I needed."He stood, and the look he exchanged with Denise when he straightened was the kind of look that makes a room feel like it's intruding. The emotional weight of the moment was just beginning to settle into something manageable when another memory surfaced and my smile faded before I could stop it."Where is Marcellus?" I said. "I would like

Ivonne's pov"You're pregnant?!"I sighed. Well, so much for keeping things lowkey.Denise came through it first, which was exactly what I should have expected, with Elara right behind her and Viera behind Elara and Leo and Larry behind them. Then ofcourse Sevrin was behind all of them, and the collective energy of the group was the particular energy of people who have just heard something and have travelled at speed to verify it."Is it true?" Denise said, stopping at the foot of the bed and looking between me and Hector with an expression of barely contained excitement.Hector looked at me. I looked at him. We both smiled at the same time."Yes," I said. The room exploded.Denise made a scream that was not a word and descended on me with both arms, hugging me so tightly that I made a noise of protest that she completely ignored.Elara burst into tears immediately, which set Viera off, and Leo put his arm around Elara while she cried and he looked at the ceiling with the expression o
