All Chapters of Her thirst for vengeance: Chapter 841 - Chapter 850

Ivonne's POV:The walk back to our room after the council meeting was quiet in the particular way that comes after a conversation that didn't resolve anything.Hector's hand was tight around mine, his jaw set, and neither of us said much because there wasn't much to say yet. We had walked in hoping for a clean answer and walked out with a name we both hated ... Marcellus, the only person on this earth who could undo the vow, and the last person on this earth who would ever want to.The corridors on the way back were strange.Every guard we passed bowed. Servants stopped what they were doing to incline their heads. A noblewoman I vaguely recognised from the court actually stopped walking entirely to offer a small, genuine smile and a quiet "congratulations" as we passed. Someone called me Madam, with real respect behind it, and I nearly missed a step because of how unfamiliar that particular word sounded directed at me."That's new," I said quietly, once we were further down the hall.

Ivonne's PovThe knife stayed cold against my throat, and I made myself breathe slowly, evenly, refusing to give either of the figures that I could now see were standing over my bed the satisfaction of watching me panic."What do you want?" I said, and my voice came out steadier than I expected. The one holding the blade let out a low, quiet laugh. "Your life," he said."Then take it," I said, holding his gaze. "You're standing right here. The knife is already at my throat. What exactly are you waiting for?"That landed somewhere I hadn't expected it to. I watched the slight shift in his posture, the small hesitation before he answered, and I filed it away immediately. He didn't actually want to kill me. Not yet. Not without something first."Get out of bed," he said instead, stepping back to give me room, the knife never lowering.I obeyed slowly, deliberately, my mind working through every possible angle even as my body moved with careful compliance. The second assassin produced a

3rd PovChelsea left the hideout with Marcellus's final words still echoing somewhere behind her ribs. Patience, Chelsea. Soon enough, you will finally meet him.The promise had sat warm in her chest for the whole walk back through the hidden passage, warm enough that she had almost convinced herself she could simply wait it out, calm and confident, the way someone secure in their future is supposed to wait. That confidence lasted exactly as long as it took her to reach the edge of the sacred forest and see the crowd. It was freaking enormous. There were literally hundreds of Lycans pressed together at the boundary, all of them waiting, all of them watching the dark tree line with the particular tension of people anticipating something they couldn't control. Chelsea stopped at the edge of it and felt her stomach drop. She should stay and watch too.She should stand here with everyone else and wait for the result like a normal member of the court. But the longer she looked at that tree

Ivonne's POV:"I said start Talking, from the very beginning," Hector said again, sharper this time.Marcellus stretched, unhurried, leaning his head back against the stone wall like he had all the time in the world, which, given that he was sitting in a dungeon cell, was a remarkable thing to project. " And i said Where exactly would you like me to start," he said. "My childhood? It was unremarkable, if you're curious. Strict father. Distant mother. Very formative, I'm sure.""Marcellus," I said."Or perhaps you'd like to hear about my training as an elder," he continued, as if I hadn't spoken. "Decades of service to this realm, and this is how it repays me. Locked in a cell by a woman who was a werewolf last week and apparently something else entirely this week. Honestly, I find the inconsistency a bit insulting.""Who sent the assassins," Hector said."Assassins," Marcellus repeated thoughtfully, examining his fingernails. "Plural. How exciting for you. I do hope they were memorab

Ivonne's POV:The screams from above reached us before Thorin had even finished delivering his warning, and the sound of them, raw and panicked and multiplying fast told me everything I needed to know about how quickly whatever was happening up there was spreading.Hector grabbed my arm immediately. "We need another way to get you out of here," he said, already scanning the dungeon walls, already moving. "Right now.""I'm not leaving," I said.He turned to look at me with an expression that was equal parts exasperation and genuine fear. "Ivonne —""If you're staying to fight, I'm staying with you," I said. "We face it together or we don't face it at all, you know this already.""Everything has changed," he said, his voice dropping lower, more urgent. "You are carrying our child. You cannot keep throwing yourself into danger like nothing is different because something is very different now and you know it."I knew he was right. Some part of me knew it immediately and completely, the s
