Ann felt the smile leave her face at the same time Isla giggled, skipping out of the room. No this couldn't be, why was he coming? Or maybe Isla was just joking, it most certainly should be a joke. She wasn't ready to face Lucas and especially not after what happened yesterday. How was she supposed to face him in the presence of her family? She wasn't sure she could hold back seeing him and not wanting to punch his stupidly handsome face. She growled, slapping her palm over her face. The day was going nothing like she planned. Today was supposed to be Lucas free day now she was going to have to deal with him all day. Today was definitely going to suck, Ann could tell. She grabbed her phone on the dresser and began to tap on the screen, scrolling through the names in search of the very person on her mind and she immediately felt relief the instant she found it.She dialed the number and placed it against her ear with a deep sigh. “Ann honey, good morning,” the voice said after the

The atmosphere of the Sinclair's family dining room was very tense and morose, except for Isla of course, who was barely able to contain her excitement with a huge smile adorned on her soft features. Ann glanced at her cousin with a deep frown wanting to be irritated at her because it was very obvious who had suggested this breakfast to her father. Isla was dressed in a red gown that clung to her features but not too much to her features. It was like Isla was doing her best not to attract too much attention this time but Ann could never understand what was going on in her cousin's head. It was like she was in her own dimension. “Master Lucas has arrived.”The gatekeeper announced before disappearing into the hallway but only to appear again with Lucas by his side. Ann ignored the squeak of excitement coming from her cousin and focused her attention on Lucas. Her eyes trailed over his frame to take in his suit clad body before moving up to rest on his face. If it wasn't because she

Lucas sat awkwardly still at the dining table, trying his hardest to keep his eye on the plate of food that had been presented before him. He couldn't believe that he almost threw himself into a dilemma but the real shock was the fact that Ann hadn't spilled the beans to her family. Hadn't that been the reason why she had rushed to her family's house to begin with? He couldn't believe he had been wrong and he couldn't believe that he stressed himself so much over nothing. As much as the situation was embarrassing, Lucas was flooded with relief. Now the real question was why his wife hadn't told on him. She was probably plotting something. A shudder ran down his spine at the thought of Ann threatening him with what she had against him. He risked a peep at Ann's parents and flinched with surprise when he found Mr. Sinclair's eyes fixed on him with a certain intensity he couldn't place.“How has Ann been? I hope she hasn't been causing you any trouble?”It was Mrs. Sinclair who spoke u

“Well since you can't call I would suggest you settle for a simple text then,” Shane said in a bored tone.Lucas blinked. Then blinked again. “Isn't that too I don't know light?” Lucas quizzed with a deep frown settled between his brows.Shane sat up to study the man seated before him with a funny expression. “What are you implying by saying light?” “A text is going to make it seem like I'm taking this matter lightly,” Lucas tried to explain with a serious expression on his face. “And that is bad because?” Shane asked, almost sounding confused with his friend's absorbed thinking.“She's of great importance to me, Shane even if she doesn't know it yet. I intend to show her that so I think however I approach her I should be able to show that I'm damn serious about her,” Lucas explained, desperate to explain his opinion to his friend. Shane blinked. “You say it like you aren't a married man.”Lucas' jaw clenched at the reminder and he recoiled. Shane sighed, his eyes narrowed down on
