"Kerja! Kerja! Kriet! Selena membuka pintu. The front view of the restaurant was designed to give the building a nice look, the parking lot is just opposite the corner, and the front has brightly coloured flowers planted which gives the building a radiating look from where Lucas sat.The restaurant, although small, was buzzing with hasty workers moving to and fro to attend to customers. The place strangely looked like a success despite his opinion of the place. It had been a long time since Lucas had last been in a place like this, it was usually fancy and expensive restaurants or bars, that was usually where he held his meetings and had his usual fun but when he had suggested his favorite bar to Lilian, she had bluntly turned down his offer and instead suggested this restaurant.Lucas felt it probably had something to do with her skepticism but he was glad she accepted his offer to meet up.He took in his surroundings once again, noting peculiar attributes. He could never have guessed he would ever be in a place like this most
“Well since you can't call I would suggest you settle for a simple text then,” Shane said in a bored tone.Lucas blinked. Then blinked again. “Isn't that too I don't know light?” Lucas quizzed with a deep frown settled between his brows.Shane sat up to study the man seated before him with a funny expression. “What are you implying by saying light?” “A text is going to make it seem like I'm taking this matter lightly,” Lucas tried to explain with a serious expression on his face. “And that is bad because?” Shane asked, almost sounding confused with his friend's absorbed thinking.“She's of great importance to me, Shane even if she doesn't know it yet. I intend to show her that so I think however I approach her I should be able to show that I'm damn serious about her,” Lucas explained, desperate to explain his opinion to his friend. Shane blinked. “You say it like you aren't a married man.”Lucas' jaw clenched at the reminder and he recoiled. Shane sighed, his eyes narrowed down on
“That bitch is crazy,” Lucas snarled with his eyes narrowed into slits as he paced before his best friend. His shoulders were stiff and his fingers clenched, he looked ready to let out some anger steam any moment.“I bet she's hot.” Shane said, as he took in his friend's agitated appearance with a smirk.“No! She is definitely not hot. The right word for her is crazy, she and that crazy cousin of hers,” Lucas gritted out.“Let me get this straight, your beloved wife doesn't bust your ass with her parents and instead just tells her cousin and you're ranting?” Shane quizzed with a questioning look, “It appears that I still don't get you, Lucas.”Lucas stopped pacing and turned so he was now fully facing Shane with a harsh expression on his face. “Could you stop emphasizing on that one good thing?”Shane shook his head. “I simply can't. As much as you're my best friend and I'd love to take your side you have to suck it in and be grateful. Ann could have told her parents, damn she could h
Lucas sat awkwardly still at the dining table, trying his hardest to keep his eye on the plate of food that had been presented before him. He couldn't believe that he almost threw himself into a dilemma but the real shock was the fact that Ann hadn't spilled the beans to her family. Hadn't that been the reason why she had rushed to her family's house to begin with? He couldn't believe he had been wrong and he couldn't believe that he stressed himself so much over nothing. As much as the situation was embarrassing, Lucas was flooded with relief. Now the real question was why his wife hadn't told on him. She was probably plotting something. A shudder ran down his spine at the thought of Ann threatening him with what she had against him. He risked a peep at Ann's parents and flinched with surprise when he found Mr. Sinclair's eyes fixed on him with a certain intensity he couldn't place.“How has Ann been? I hope she hasn't been causing you any trouble?”It was Mrs. Sinclair who spoke u
Lucas exhaled through his nose, his hands gripped the steering wheel until his knuckles slowly began to grow pale.“Pick up, you fool,” he grunted out, glaring at his phone placed on the car seat beside him. But just about when he was about to reach for his phone and hang up, the phone beeped signify
Lucas made his way to the bathtub with a deep furrow between his brows. His mind wandered once more to Ann as he loosened the tap to fill it with water and began to pull off his clothes. What could his wife be playing at? One moment she was angry with him and next acting suspiciously nice. It was th
The atmosphere of the Sinclair's family dining room was very tense and morose, except for Isla of course, who was barely able to contain her excitement with a huge smile adorned on her soft features. Ann glanced at her cousin with a deep frown wanting to be irritated at her because it was very obvio
Ann felt the smile leave her face at the same time Isla giggled, skipping out of the room. No this couldn't be, why was he coming? Or maybe Isla was just joking, it most certainly should be a joke. She wasn't ready to face Lucas and especially not after what happened yesterday. How was she supposed
