I woke, slightly startled and confused. It took a minute to realise that I was in fact in my own bed and not back out in the garden sinking my teeth into Brodie. The dreams had been so vivid, and I could still taste his blood on my tongue. I lifted my hand to my head, the headache pounding at its core seemed to make the room spin before me. If it had been just the headache, I would have considered it a normal hangover like every teen gets at some point. Except it felt like my whole body was affected.My muscles ached, and I felt so weak still, just like I had the night before. When I had been in front of Brodie, my blood had felt like fire coursing through my veins, but it had turned to ice overnight. I slumped back down on my pillow and closed my eyes, trying to guard against the worst of the sensations filling me.
