Lucas POV “And to what do I owe this call, sergeant?” I grunted as I picked up the phone. “The locals at the edge of town say they’ve heard the same kind of noises, for the third night in a row.” He reported. “What?” I asked, half awake. “I got here as soon as I could , sir, everywhere looked quiet, like usual. But they swear they heard noises. “How many of them??” I asked him. “We have about four families here sir.” He replied to me. “Well, that many people cannot be mad at once. Take them in, make them comfortable, I'm gonna need to ask them some questions.” I instructed and cut the phone. “What the hell now?” I sighed to myself. I spent the lonely night tossing and turning, that's was of course when I wasn't just wide awake thinking about what things have become. If things were really gonna be like this, with Emily at the centre of our lives, then we should be cut some slack and allowed to look out once in a while.
