HENRY'S POV:“My parents as well as Zoey and her boyfriend are currently at the mansion resting. You should rest before heading to the hospital.” I told Selena and she hummed, which let me know she was jetlagged as she always was.She leaned on my shoulder and asked, “Anything new on Carmeron?” I quietly shook my head, and she intertwined our fingers together, “By shielding Cherry, he had gotten more cuts from the crash. Some glasses ended up being deeper than the other and more severe, piercing at different sides. And there was a hit to his head, doctors say it's a miracle he's alive, however, they would be observing more to check his brain activity if there would be any brain activity or not.” I shared and I could feel her holding onto me tightly.“He protected her with his life and I stopped speaking to him in fear he would hurt her. He is literally between life and death and there's nothing I can do, Cherry is not even speaking to me. This has to be the worst few days, and you do

SELENA’S POV:A WEEK LATER:It had been approximately a week since Carmeron had gone between life and death, and we had received a call yesterday announcing that he was finally awake. When Henry and Julian had gone to meet the doctor a week ago, he didn’t sound hopeful which broke everyone. Carmeron’s parents flew in that day and balled into tears, crying miserably especially his mother who was advanced in age. It was such a heartbreaking sight, and Henry was so lost. Later that night, Henry had shared the story of when he realized Carmeron was going to be around for a while, and it went thus. Flashback:I can’t remember much but I know I was about four or five and I usually attended my parent’s events, especially the ones thrown at the mansion then. I remember quite vividly there were people everywhere except the staircase, everyone mingling and drinking, and in celebration laughing boisterously. I took a seat by the piano, since my parents had ensured that I had gotten lessons an

SELENA’S POV:A WEEK LATER:As I stood at the balcony of the house with the cup of coffee in my hands with only a white robe on, as I had just taken a shower after the steamy evening Henry and I shared last night. My hair was let down curly and wavy as always and I loved how good I smelt like strawberry and candies. I believed I could see the entire city from where I stood, and I was amazed at its beauty but my mind couldn’t help but drift back to my conversation with Joey the other day.“Joey….what are you…” I stammered as I stood in my office like it wasn’t mine and he smiled staring at me.“I knew we would see soon and I’m glad all my efforts and the stern yet bossy words I tolerate from your employees are all to please you. It makes it all worth it, don’t you think?” He inquired, with hands still stretched out and I stared at him from head to toe unsure of what to say.So I shook hands with him firmly and he cackled, holding my hands longer than I wanted and so I raised my eyebro

SELENA’S POV:LATER THAT EVENING.After lunch with Joey, I headed to the family house where the party was to take place and I joined Liv, Cherry, Gabby, Zoey, in preparation of the welcome party for Carmeron who had gained speedy recovery. It amazed all of us and we were so happy. While we prepared, listening to music and telling stories, I thought to share with the girls my lunch with Joey and they all laughed arriving at the conclusion.“Yeah ... .I need a man who would be that intentional.” Zoey joked and we all shook our heads.“It’s giving obsession and does that really happen in real life? A man being obsessed with a girl, learning all her likes and dislikes, following her everywhere, trying to infiltrate her life and destroy her entire life just so she can be his? I’m not saying that’s what is going through his mind, just asking a question.” Gabby asked and Liv confirmed that there had to be a reality to it.“Some men just love to chase after what they can’t get because they lo

HENRY’S POV:THE NEXT DAY:I rocked Hailey as she was slowly drifting to sleep in my arms, and my beautiful Selena fell asleep with her head on my thigh, sleeping beautifully while we were up in the air flying back to Luresia where we both had a lot of work to do. Liv and Ace had taken Ace’s private jet contrary to my expectation that we were all going to travel back together. But it was beneficial to me either way, because now we were taking a quick stop at Moria Island. It was an island I had been trying to purchase for a while after my first visit before I met Selena…and now all I wanted to do more than ever was to put it in our family name or just in Selena’s. We were going to stay there till Sunday evening as it was just about a three hour flight from there to Luresia and we both had a stressful long month worrying about Carmeron and our safety. It was going to be a breath of fresh air and it was highly recommended by my mother who kept encouraging me after I suggested it to he
