Lexie's POV:Paul’s jaw tightened like iron, the muscles in his face coiled with tension. I could see the shift in his mood, the weight in his silence.“It wasn’t an accident, Lexie…” He said finally, his voice low and firm. “Or a coincidence, either. We didn’t happen to run into our attackers that day, it was a planned setup.”I froze for a heartbeat. His words sent a bolt of panic straight through me.I whipped my head toward him, heart pounding. “Paul—are you saying… are you thinking Jonas had something to do with it?”His brows furrowed, and he looked down at me, startled. “What?”“I mean—” I rushed to explain, stumbling over my words, “I questioned him too when you didn’t return, and I thought I saw him there too. I was scared and quite desperate. But I’m telling you now, he didn’t do anything. He’s innocent. Paul, you have to believe me—”Paul’s brows lifted just slightly, but he shook his head. “No, Lexie. I don’t suspect Jonas.”I blinked. “You… don’t?”He took my hands i

Lexie's POV:I stirred, blinking at the soft golden light pouring in through the sheer curtains. After looking around for a few moments, I realized that I had been pulled from my sleep by the grunts and snores of Paul, who was sleeping beside me.I turned on my side slowly, letting my eyes adjust as I looked at him.He was sprawled on his back, the blanket was barely covering his hips, one arm tossed over his chest while the other was hanging off the bed after I had wiggled out from his grasp some moments ago. His plump lips were parted slightly, and a gentle snore puffed from his mouth: soft and absolutely adorable.I bit back a laugh. He never used to snore before, but right now it seemed like he didn’t even care who heard him. The thought that he had started snoring as soon as he found out he was going to be a dad, tickled me more than I expected. Maybe, it was due to the fact that he was finally getting deep sleep after weeks away from home. My fingers reached up without perm

#Trigger warning: Mentioned of thoughts about suicide and hurting oneself.#Katrine's POV:I never thought silence could scream so loudly. But it was!! Right now, in this hollow hotel room with its perfect beige walls and its stupid crisp linen, every second of silence was a scream echoing in my ears… killing me from the inside, making me realise the mistakes I had committed and telling me how I was wrong for all of them.I was sitting curled up beside the window like a broken doll, resting my forehead pressed against the cold glass, watching the night sky, which was blinking down at me with stars I didn’t deserve to wish on.I had no right to wish anymore, I had no right to think about any wishes anymore. Not because I was born with this curse or I was cursed to have a life like this, but… it was all because I had done the one thing, which even I could not forgive myself for. Then how will I expect Jonas, Paul, Lexie or the world to forgive me?I hurt her! I hurt the girl I had swor

Lexie's POV:The moment I brought up the topic of wanting to know what had happened to him during this month, there was a strange kind of tension between us. For the first time, I felt him pull away a little bit… not because he wanted to hide something, but like he wanted to protect me from it. But I wanted him to be back to me… as my Paul. I sat up and slowly made my way off the bed, as he watched me with curious eyes. I walked to his side of the bed, reaching my hand towards him. He took it without hesitation, and I pulled him up from the bed. He went along with me and stood up, still looking at me with questions in his eyes. But instead of saying anything, I simply hugged him. “Please, Paul…? I can handle it, I promise.”“You won't let it go, will you?”I shook my head with a warm smile spreading across my face. He knew exactly how stubborn I was. With a sigh, he brought his arms around me as he walked to the couch near the windowsill. He sat down, pulling me into his lap as

Katrine's POV:Within a second, his grip on me became harsh.Without warning, his hands ripped me off of him. I gasped with surprise, moments before he threw me away from himself and onto the bed like I was nothing more than a ragdoll.“J…Jonas?” I whispered, dazed, blinking at him through the blur of tears and fading pleasure.I was still naked, legs spread on the bed as his cum dripped out of me. Blood was trickling down my neck where his mark was still fresh, the wound raw and searing with the energy of the bond between us. My body was flushed, shivering, craving to be near him again. But my mate stood in front of me, breathing heavily, his chest rising and falling as he zipped up his pants with a sharp, jerky motion. But something was wrong… his eyes weren't soft as he looked at me, there was no trace of the relief and love that I used to find whenever we were intimate before. No… this time, his eyes were ice.And then, he spoke the words that shattered me from inside out. “W
