Xander's POV That pompous asshole! How dare he make such an ambitious move on my pack? I ought to have thrown his men out of my pack as soon as I got the chance. I blame myself for this humiliation. I was a fool for trying to play the peace card but that wasn't going to get me anywhere. It was time to put on my big boy pants and play the game he was calling me to play. I was going to stop begging and take matters in my own hand. I walked out of the meeting room sulking and plotting. If he wasn't going to leave peacefully, maybe it was time I played dirty like him. I didn't expect the figure I met as I walked out of the room. It was Luna Mia, the woman that had taken up space in my head beside the matter with Damion.I stopped in my tracks. “Luna Mia, here to see Damion?” Her eyes traveled between me and the room that I had just stepped out from before finally settling on me. “I was waiting for you,” she said calmly. “There is something I need to speak with you about.” My firs

Damion's POV You don't care about her! She is a traitor! Whatever she does is none of your business! I had to keep reminding myself that this woman had no layer of importance in my life. She was nothing more than an object to be used by me. Just like the other women in my life, she was nothing special. The others were just s*x toys meant to quench my list whenever I wanted to, she was just a figure to show to everyone as my Luna. The only women that I showed compassion towards were my mother and sister. I could kill for them anyday, anytime. They easiest way to mess with me was to try any attempt at harm to those two. Other than that, affection bore no residence in my personality. All I knew was duty to my pack and making sure everyone else feared me. I drowned my glass of root beer. I had taken a break to rewind from everything. Seated across from me was my Beta; Logan McGill. He was my best friend for as long as I knew how to walk. His father and mine were close so we basicall

Lyra(Mia’s)POV I didn't know how to react. A couple of seconds ago I was hoping that they would recognise me as their long lost daughter. But now the prayer was coming true, I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. “What did you just call me?” I managed to say. Xander approached my mother. “It's okay mother-in-law. It is not Lyra. They just have a striking resemblance.” That was enough to put my mother at rest. “Welcome to our home young lady. Come on. We have dinner spread out just for you.” I clasped my hand in silent apology. “I would love to but I have somewhere Xander and I are heading out to. It's a lively home you have here. I promise I'm going to pay you a visit again.” I couldn't stick around any longer. They were all smiling but I knew what they were behind that joyful mask. You should have seen how they all gasped when my mother had called out my name. It sounded like even the mention of my name was a taboo.Imagine the reaction I would get if they found out w

Lyra (Mia’s)POVI hadn't expected to get accepted so easily, but I never imagined it would happen this quickly.“At least let me show you my designs. Let me prove that I'm not messing around.”“I'm not going to look at anything from you. I'm sure they’ll be trash. You have a lot of guts asking to work at my company. I only hire the best of the best, and you’re not one of them.”Why was everyone writing me off?If he gave me a chance, I would blow his mind just like I did with Xander.“Come on, Luna Mia. Let's get you back to your room.”I couldn't let this opportunity slip through my hands. It was the only chance I had to convince him, and I wasn't going to give up.“You don’t have to pay me. I just want to work for you.”“Why?”The question stunned me. But there was a follow-up.“Why would you choose me over Xander? I’m sure he has promised to pay you any amount you need.”“I don't feel comfortable around Xander. He is always trying to hit on me,” I began, putting on a pity-evoking ac

Lyra(Mia's) POVHow could my morning keep getting worse by the minute? Why was the universe trying to frustrate all my efforts? What was my offense?I grabbed the documents from Logan and inspected them. Only a section seemed to have been dampened by the sweat. I was still thinking of what to say when asked about my paper being roughed up. Now it was wet.I didn't have an excuse. But I had to think of a solution.I wanted to break down in tears. This was too much. But I didn't have time for tears. It was in no way going to help my situation. I wasn't going to meet a man who could be appealed to with emotions. I was trying to meet a stone-hearted perfectionist, and I could already see myself failing.“How can I help you?” Logan asked.“Please put down my window. I'm just going to try and spread them in the breeze. Hopefully, they get dried before we get to the company.”I looked at the time on the dashboard.“8:20.”My chances of being a candidate were getting slimmer by the minute.I
