Lyra’s pov“By the power vested in me, I hereby reject you as my mate from this moment onwards.” Xander snapped angrily. The room was filled with a lot of people talking, whispering to themselves as they looked at me with disgust on their faces.— my twin sister,my parents, the whole pack and the elders. My senses became clearer and I could feel the warmth of the blanket over my body. I was half naked- with just my underwear. I blinked rapidly in confusion while trying to recognize my surroundings. Why am I in bed when I was supposed to be at my mating ceremony? I wondered as i looked around. The weight of confusion hit me more as I felt a movement beside me. My heart raced, I looked over as fear gripped my soul like a cold wave. A stranger was next to me with his chest bare and caught under the sheets.“What!…Who is this? And what am I doing in bed with this man?” I questioned with my voice below whispers, clutching the blanket tightly around my trembling body.“Quit the pretense Lyra!

Lyra (Mia)’s POV The hours went by as I tried to adapt my new reality. Every corner of the house felt strange and unfamiliar, yet the people around me spoke to me as if I had always been here even though my responses were a bit hesitant and unsure,as if I was trying to put together pieces of puzzles I didn’t know I was a part of. “Mia, breakfast is ready!” The woman who claimed to be my mother called out loudly from downstairs. Her voice carried warmth, but my chest tightened at the sound. It wasn’t my mother and that wasn’t my name. My real mother was miles away, probably grieving about my death. I doubt she is, cause she never cared about hearing my side of the story or bothered about me being kicked out of the pack. I stared at the mirror again, tracing the features of my new face. They were hauntingly similar to mine, yet distinctly different. The gray eyes that stared back at me felt foreign. My auburn hair was now silver, shimmering like the moonlight. I clenched my fists,

Lyra(Mia's) POV“What are you doing here?” Damion's cold voice sounded behind me.Thinking about what you and your mother were discussing was the answer. Reality was checking in with me and I desperately craved an explanation for the mess I was in.“I was just going for a bathroom break. I lost my way and was waiting until someone came by.”I was standing at the edge of the hallway , not quite long away from the room in which I overheard him discussing a matter that troubled my mind.“Come with me. I'll show you where you'll be spending your days.”He marched forward silently beckoning me to follow. I obliged but at a safe pace. His words still brought me terror.I smiled. Surely he was taking me to a grand room.Beneath the strings that were beginning to get attached, the title of Luna was a prestigious one. I felt honoured and couldn't wait to experience the good perks that came with it.Living with Damion's scared me. The man hadn't muttered a word to me and I knew better than to s

Lyra(Mia) POVSleep eluded me at night. How could I catch any slumber with my stomach growling in protest? Damion had kept his word and hadn't invited me for dinner. I had barely been allowed to leave my room… it's a prison… all evening. This morning I still hadn't heard from him or anyone for that matter. The door was locked from outside and a guard had been stationed to make sure I didn't try anything. Did I try talking to the guard? Yes. I had tried every trick in the book to convince him to open the door. But he was as hard as a rock. He barely answered me. I'm sure even if he had the intention to help me, the fear of Alpha Damion's punishment would not let him. I could barely raise myself from the bed. I was too tired to move myself. What was the use of getting up? There was no life waiting for me. It's not like I was going to get up and head out to fulfill my Luna duties. I was just an item to be used at will. A knock on the door startled me. “Come in.” The guard peeked

Mia’s POV “Where the hell have you been? I have been looking all over for you?” Damion barked, not acknowledging that I had guests. He didn't have to. The two of them were already either overwhelmed or afraid to speak. That was not unexpected considering the kind of man he was. “I have been here, My Alpha. I tried talking to you earlier but you've been pushing me away,” I answered keeping my tone low. “You think you're powerful enough to hang around the kind of people I walk with?” “If you let me into your circle, you can find out that I'm smarter than you think I am.” “Yeah? And what else am I going to find out? That you're a traitor who was waiting all this while to stab me in the back?” “Please lower your voice,” I begged. Everyone had turned their attention to me. “Is this how you're supposed to treat your wife?” He scoffed. “You expect me to show you love?” He grabbed my arm and pulled me close. His grip on my hand was right. “You're hurting me. Please stop.” “Get this
