Noah's POV Everything about her fascinated me. Even the little things that I shouldn't even care about. When she broke the kiss my first thought was maybe she didn't like it, maybe she didn't like me. But as soon as I saw her face. I knew it. It wasn't me. Something else was bothering her. Something I doubted if she would tell me if I asked, so I didn't.Instead, I changed the topic. "Why do you wear contacts?" I asked instead, staring at her eyes. Those green irises of her, which she was covering with blue contacts, were what drew me to her in the first place at the bar. It confused me why she chose to cover them up. "I like seeing them blue." She responded, looking a bit calmer. "But I like them green." Sincerely, I did. Her green eyes were nothing like I'd seen before. They were dark green, almost like a green emerald dipped in a pool of blackness. "Well, those green eyes of mine weren't really likable when I was a kid." I frowned. How could iris as beautiful as her

Elena's POV I twisted on the huge comfortable bed, trying to figure out how to find a more comfortable sleeping position. Or was it just that I couldn't sleep? Argh! "You know what? Fuck this!" I groaned sitting up on the bed.I wasn't falling asleep anytime soon. After me and Noah's talk, I thought... Okay, we were getting married in like 5 days. But before I could fully relish the excitement of my win, it dawned on me. The dumb gala was in three days. Three freaking days yet I didn't have a plan on how to evade Layla and her real parents. Everything felt so frustrating. With a groan, I looked around the huge room I was in. I thought me and I were going to spend the night together; we had something going...the sparks were there, and I could tell he wanted it, too. But no...as soon as the movie ended he just stood up and said a few things before leaving me. Then a maid came, saying Noah had sent her to direct me to where I was going to sleep. Again the thought came to me..

Elena's POV "Hm?" "It's late, I thought you were asleep." Noah shrugged. "Oh... Yeah." I nodded more to myself. Then I raised the cup, slowly losing my previous tight grip on it. "I was thirsty, so I just went to the kitchen to get myself something to drink." "So you found your way to the kitchen but you can't find the way back?" Noah raised a brow, stopping in his tracks to face me. Yeah...that was exactly what happened. I tolled my eyes. "Of course, I didn't find it on my own. Your housekeeper..." I blinked, trying to remember her name; that was if she told me her name. If she did, well I couldn't remember it. "She saw me when I was just stepping out of my room and offered to show me the way. She also offered to show me the way back before she left, but I just... I thought I could find it on my own." I let out a small sigh. "Turns out that I can't. Your place is like a maze with no..." I suddenly felt something soft land on my lips. I was startled for just a second be

Elena's POVThis wasn’t my first time attending events like this, so I knew how to act. What to say? How to smile. So then… why was I still so nervous?I took in another deep breath, reminiscing what happened earlier in the morning. It was Saturday.I’d woken up feeling fine. Layla had called earlier, rambling about how her day was going and how things with her father were finally looking up. Apparently, the man she was being engaged to was even more striking than she expected; at least according to how her father described him. But he refused to give her a picture, claiming they were going to meet soon, so it would be of no use. Honestly? I agreed with him.Sometimes a little mystery was sexy.We talked for hours before my stomach interrupted the conversation with a loud growl, reminding me I hadn't eaten. I got out of bed, half awake, while thinking of what to make for breakfast. That was until the doorbell rang.I frowned. I hadn’t ordered anything. Layla wasn’t in town. Who else

Layla's POV I didn't need to be a wiz to know what was happening. What was shocking was how the hell it was happening. Almost a week ago, I left my house... The huge mansion my father bought for me to apologize for his wrongdoings and move back in with him. He had been trying to apologize to me for months now, so I thought... Why not just agree to it?He was still my biological father, and he wanted the best for me... Maybe. Plus, he was getting me married to some handsome, wealthy dude, so, why not? So I did. I went back home. My father gave me the warmest greeting he had ever given me, even going as far as throwing a party to welcome me back into the house. But it was all a facade... I knew. He only wanted me to feel welcome so I wouldn't leave again. I didn't plan on leaving anyways unless the man he wanted me to marry was an old fucker. It's been years since I'd been here last. Everything was different. The house looked even bigger. I blinked staring at the house. It w
