NaomiThe next morning, as Micah and I sat in the office, working on some files, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to change. The door to Micah’s office opened without a knock, which was strange in itself. Normally, only the people who worked directly with him came in unannounced."Micah," his mother’s voice sounded, as she walked in with Anna, the lady she wanted him to marry. I placed the files on my desk, trying to hide the unease I felt. This wasn’t just a casual visit. Something told me that the way his mother was acting now would have something to do with me, or my place here.Micah didn’t even flinch as his mother stepped forward, a smile curled along her lips. "Micah, meet Anna whom you already know, she will be your secretary from now on." She said, her gaze locked on mine. I stiffened, what the hell was she trying to pull here? Didn't she already know that I'm Micah's secretary?"I’m sorry, Mom, I don’t need a new secretary," Micah said, his jaw clenched.

NaomiThe sky was grey as I walked back home. I had decided against using a cab since the distance from the cafe to Micah's house wasn't too far. Just as I was about to take the next turn, two masked men appeared from no where grabbing me by both arms."Let go off me," I managed to scream, trying to break free from their grasp, but they were too strong, and worst of all, they wasn't any other person walking on the road, whom I could ask for help. The men pushed me toward the van, as my world spun. I tried to shout Micah’s name, but no words could come out. Soon, the van door shut with a loud slam.I hit the roof of the van, as the men tied my hands. The van shook and then rolled away. My phone vibrated in my bag, but all thanks to my hands being tied I couldn't even reach for it. The van moved fast through the city, turning corners I didn’t recognize. My heart raced, every beat sounding so loudly in my chest. I couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think straight. Where were they taking me?I t

Naomi. The ride felt long, even though it was only a few minutes. The city lights flashed by as the Mercedes drove quickly through the streets. Micah sat next to me, his hand resting on my knee, but his eyes were far away, deep in thought. He kept glancing at me, checking if I was okay.I was still shaking from everything that had happened. My body felt weak, like I was carrying the weight of the world. But when I looked at Micah, I felt a little better, like maybe I wasn’t alone in all this.As the Mercedes turned onto a quieter street, the driver slowed down. I looked out the window, not sure where we were going, everything felt like a blur. Finally, the Mercedes stopped, Micah turned to me with a soft smile. "We’re safe now, Naomi. You can relax."I nodded, but inside, I was still scared. I knew Dawson wouldn’t just give up. He never did. And now that he knew Micah was involved, it would only get worse. The driver got out and opened the door for us. Micah helped me out, holding ont

Naomi The night went by slowly, but in a good way. Micah and I spent the evening curled up on the couch, talking about small things. It felt like a break, a moment where we didn’t have to worry about Dawson, my divorce, or anything else.Micah had done everything to make sure I was comfortable. He had taken care of me when I needed it most. And for the first time in a long time, I felt like I could breathe again, but the calm didn’t last long. The next morning, I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I groaned and reached for it, trying not to wake up Micah who was still asleep next to me. I saw the name flashing on the screen, Dawson. My heart dropped to my stomach, and I hesitated before answering."Naomi." Dawson's voice came through, cold and sharp, just like I remembered.I sat up on the couch, trying to keep my voice steady. "What is it, Dawson?""I need to see you," he said, his tone making my stomach twist. "We need to talk, face to face."I closed my eyes, feeling a wave

Naomi. The next few days felt like they were dragging on forever. I couldn’t shake the feeling that Dawson was always just a step behind us, waiting for the right moment to strike. Every time I checked my phone, I half-expected to see a message or a call from him, but nothing came. It was almost too quiet, and that made me even more nervous.Micah was doing his best to keep me calm, but I could tell that even he was worried. He kept telling me that everything would be fine, that we would figure it out, but I could see the tension in his face. I could hear it in his voice whenever he spoke about Dawson. It was like we were both waiting for a bomb to explode, just waiting for that moment when everything would come crashing down. That afternoon, Micah took me out to lunch to try to get my mind off things. We went to a little café, one of our usual spots. It was quiet, peaceful, the perfect place to forget about the chaos that had been our lives recently, but I couldn’t forget. We sat at
