Kiara's POV The silence in the room returned after Hazel’s footsteps faded down the corridor, but it was no longer the same silence as before. This one was alive, thrumming against my skin like static, heavy with the knowledge that he was still there. I tried to shake it off, but the more I tried, the harder it became. I couldn't see him, but it still didn't stop his presence from being known.
