Darius' POV The corridor outside her ward felt too narrow for me to breathe. If I was being honest, no matter how I moved, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my breaths were being suppressed, like a fucking freight train was ramming into me continuously, but it's plan was simply to hold my breathing, rather than kill me upfront. If someone had whispered the words to me, or had predicted that this would be my father, then best believe that I would have laughed their heads off. Kiara's POV The silence in the room returned after Hazel’s footsteps faded down the corridor, but it was no longer the same silence as before. This one was alive, thrumming against my skin like static, heavy with the knowledge that he was still there. I tried to shake it off, but the more I tried, the harder it became. I couldn't see him, but it still didn't stop his presence from being known. Perhaps it had everything to do with the fact that I knew he was the alpha, or not, but whatever it was, it made his aura stronger than the usual kind.
