Damon’s POV Sabrina nodded at my request and stood awkwardly before me as Ian and nanny Tessa left us. “How are you feeling now?” she asked softly, her eyes darting everywhere but at me. “Once I take the drugs the doctor gave me, I should be fine,” I answered, my gaze never leaving her. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. It was like my body believed that if I blinked, she’d vanish again. Her brow creased. “Where are your drugs?” I lifted a weak hand and pointed at the bedside cupboard. She moved to get the drug. She found the vial, poured water into a glass, and returned to me. Her hands trembled faintly as she handed them over. I took the medicine, swallowing it down with a long gulp, then passed the glass back to her. She set it gently on the cupboard, and then turned back to me, as if waiting for my next instruction. The way she stood there, so fidgety, almost made me chuckle. She really was a little mouse.
