ONE WEEK LATER. GABRIEL'S POV I was in the middle of a discussion with uncle Luca, when a knock came on the door, and the door was pushed open. Kayla stepped in, and we locked gazes. "Good morning, uncle Gabriel." She greeted flatly, pulling her eyes away. "Good morning, Dad." "Good morning ny dear." Uncle Luca gave a nod her way. "Good morning Kayla." I replied. For the past week, she was hell bent on ignoring me. Whenever we were around her father or other familiar people, she tried her best to come off as 'courteous'. But when we happened to come across each other alone, she completely ignored me. As much as her behavior was getting to me, more than I wished it would, I forced myself to return the energy. I never said much to her as well, save for greetings. "Dad, it's time for the meeting with the potential investor I told you about." She informed, and uncle Luca shot her an apologetic look.
