Eva's POV.I staggered into the house, gasping for breath. My legs ached, my throat burned, and my heart still pounded violently against my ribs like it was trying to escape. Eva's POV. Surprisingly, Nicklaus wasn't lying, father really agreed for the marriage rites to be carried out today. He'd sent for the elders, the Betas and the council members, none of the rest of the pack members were invited. Why invite them when they were the reason he was marrying me off in such a hurry. I knew his compliance wasn't because I lied about Nicklaus being my mate, he would have still refused because of Nicklaus's reputation, he agreed to this because he knew Nicklaus was capable of protecting me, and more conveniently far away from the pack where their mockeries and haunting murmurs will be non existent. In a few hours, the marriage rites were complete and we were ready to leave. Mom kept a long face the entire time, including Ethan and Annabelle. Eva's POV.The first thing I noticed when my eyes fluttered open was the dim evening light spilling through the large windows into the room. For a moment, I laid still, confused about how long I had been asleep. Eva's POV. I found a simple suitable dress for the evening and quickly changed into it. Glancing over the mirror at the far end of the room, I smiled to myself. The long gown wasn't so tight, but it complimented the tiny curves that I never knew I had. Somehow, I was really beginning to see myself in a new light since I left my pack. The door suddenly flung open cutting through my chain of thoughts, it was Nicklaus. He was clad in his usual all black outfit, although that never made him one bit less attractive. Eva's POV."Whatever, now turn around, I want to take off my clothes," I said and a creepy smirk broke out on his face."What if I don't want to be responsible?" He said."Nicklaus, please, turn the hell around!"
