Yeah, I just need to rest a bit._ I left them behind, but the truth was Emilio’s words had rattled me to my bones. Yes, this men had touched and owned me once, but would they still want me? I know they have already seen my scars, but I couldn't let anyone in right now. Before I could shut my room door, a hand stopped it. “Are you running away baby girl?” “Emilio, leave her alone,” I heard Xiomar shout from the end of the hall. My dark night is leaning against the door, waiting for an answer from me. “No, I wasn't.” “It seemed like you were. What a pity that would have been,” he hissed. “You had so much fire in you.” Rage built in my heart. Before I could control myself, I slapped him. “Yes,” the sick bastard hissed. “That fire.” He grabbed me by my arms and slamed my door behind me. “Tell me you want me to leave, Lyra. Say it.” I couldn't. A tear dropped down my cheeks and Emilio caught it with his pinkie, and swiped it on his tongue. “Are those for me? Or for the

Achilles Nineteen years oldTen years Ago“Hey, boy.”I walked towards my father's second in command. The man that killed him and took over his gang, but he had no idea who I was.It had taken me three months to join his gang. Four to gain his trust a bit. “Yes Boss,” I said, walking to his side. “Is there a problem?”“No, take a walk with me.”I folded my hands behind my back, strolling beside him. “How did last night go?”We carried out a raid last night on one of the biggest warehouses in town. Coke, hemp and more importantly, money was stolen from them. “I think it went splendid boss.”He grinned. “Don't be fucking conservative,” he laughed. “I heard you were amazing last night. You were the one to kill Lorenzo.”The slimy bastard had tried to crawl down a hole. “He was pathetic,” I spat out, remembering pulling out the small man from behind his chair. “His men were dying for him while he was busy trying to hide.”He burst into laughter. “You know, I like you,” he grinned. “You'

Present TimeLyla’s POVMy hands shook with fury as I walked next to Isaiah. His father was ahead of us, taking determined steps towards the cell he held Achilles, Xiomar and Emilio, humming underneath his breath.“What do you mean you know who killed your mother,” I hiss at Isaiah, careful to keep my voice low.“She was not my mother. In many ways, maybe she was, but she did not have me.”Ohh. These fucked up family. “Well, what did you mean then?”“Achilles said I should come tell him that. He knows who killed the woman my father was in love with for all his life, and instead of talking to me still, he is walking away gleefully towards them, Lyla, so just follow after him.”We got to a stairs and descended slowly, into the dark lit room. Soon, I sighted them, and I ran, tears falling down my face.“Achilles,” I cried out, grabbing on to the bar. The three of them were handcuffed to the walls, and there was a chain around Emilio’s neck. “Are you guys okay?”Achilles does not reply, h

Lyla’s POV“This is your room,” the young maid said, bowing her head slightly. “Master Horace has asked for me to be your personal maid, if you need anything, you can just call me.”I swallowed and nodded, stepping into the room. “What's your name?”“Marionette,” she replied, smiling. “It's been a while since we had guests. Would you like a bath?”When last had I had a bath?“I suppose so,” I shrugged. None of my bags was with me, instead they were stuck in the car boot downstairs. “I don't have anything to wear,” I murmured.“Don't worry about that,” Marionette said. “I will bring a change of clothes from you, courtesy of master Horace.”Master Horace. “He makes you call him that?”“No,” she smiled. “I just like calling him that.”I nodded. She entered into the bathroom and soon after, she stepped out. “The bath is ready. I'll go get your clothes.”I waited till the door closed before I stepped into the bathroom, shedding off my clothes. Achilles flashed in my head. His uncle’s face

She walked towards me, tears in her eyes. “My mi amore,” she breathed, taking me into her hands.I crashed into the bosom of the elderly woman, tears pouring down my face. “I have missed you so much.”“I heard all the things the bad men did to you,” she sniffled. “I am so sorry.”I turned towards Xiomar. “How is she here?”“After we got attacked, we knew we needed to keep her safe. So Isiah found a way for her to work in Horace’s house.”“Is your grandson with you?” I asked Katrina.“Yes, he is in the servants quarters.” She stared at me. “You have changed.”I blushed. “Leaner?”“no,” she replied. “Stronger.”“Come and join us,” I said, dragging her. “We're having dinner.”“I go back to the kitchen now,” Katrina said. “I'll check on you, okay?”“Okay,” I nodded, a tear falling. “It's really nice to see you.”She smiled at the boys and left through the open door. “I was wondering if she was safe,” I breathed. “Thank
