LYRA'S POV I dialed Thorne's number on my phone for what felt like the thousandth time, I held my breath as the phone rang but he wasn't answering. "Pick up. Pick up." I sighed, frustration seeping into my voice, the call terminated again with a loud beep while I placed another one, desperately hoping he would answer it this time. But he didn't. The beeping sound was all I could hear for a long time, couples with the lashing of rain water against my bedroom window. The rain was falling heavily, thunderstorm and lightning striking the distance. It only aggravated my fears. I pressed my hand against my forehead, I didn't want to think too much about it but sooner or later, if Thorne didn't return, I knew I would fall into depression. Thorne was a grown man and he could take care of himself but there was no ignoring the fact that accidents happen. My heart skipped a beat at the thought of that, no, I didn't think I would be able to live with it if that ever happened especia

DUNCAN'S POV Desperate times called for desperate measures. I desperately needed to have my son back and I would do anything in my lower to have him with him. I didn't care if u had to fight Lyra for him, he was my son and I was willing to sacrifice anything for him. It still felt like a dream which I hadn't yet woken up from. If only those years ago, I had been patient enough for Lyra. None of this would have happened. Now some flimsy Omega would take my place in her life. There was nothing I could do about it but I knew that there were several things I could do to prevent Ryan from ever seeing the man as his dad. I groaned as I sprained an ankle the moment I fell on the floor below Lyra's room. I hurried across the road to get to my car but ended up being cornered by a figure who held me by my chest. “I see your wounds have healed.” He said. My gaze narrowed with rage. There was only one person who would know that I actually got injured earlier today and this wasn't the figure o

LYRA'S POV I decisively took a seat beside Thorne at the table while I placed Ryan beside me. "You seem to not understand that you've been suspended Thorne." I whispered sharply into his ear as I took out a slice of the freshly baked bread. I saw Thorne's hands tighten but he didn't say anything in response. Probably he hadn't heard me or he was just downright ignoring me. "Did you hear me at all." I whispered a bit higher this time making sure my voice was loud enough for him to hear but silent enough to bypass the hearing of others. Thorne placed his slice back into his plate and smiled right at me. "Have you ever noticed?" He asked in a daze. "Noticed what?" "How happy he looks when eating." Thorne's eyes met mine for a while before it returned to Ryan who was showering praises on the cook for such a delicious meal she had cooked. Now that didn't surprise me because it was a daily occurrence but the fact that Thorne was trying to divert my attention with matters

DUNCAN'S POV My head throbbed with an intensity I had never felt before, the never ending fever since the day Thorne had beaten me up. I had retaliated by sending warriors to get rid of him yesterday and I hoped they did their job really well. I ought to be healing faster than I was but the injuries that I had gotten from the fight were so fatal and serious. Sophia sat beside me placing a wet towel on my head to cool down my finger. "Do you mind telling me what happened that night?" She asked suddenly out of no where. "No." I replied curtly. Sophia must have gotten offended by my response, I knew she would but I couldn't care any less. "At least you're healing faster than I expected." She spar. I didn't know what came over me at that moment but I placed my hand over her palm stopping her from moving further in whatever she was doing with me. "What is wrong?" She asked with a bot of an edge in her voice. "Leave." I ordered. "And call in the pack healer for me." I ad

DUNCAN'S POV I didn't think he could, or could he? I found it hard sleeping through the whole night, all my thoughts bordered on what relationship Thorne could possibly have with the Alpha Ultima. Unless, he was an errand boy which was somewhat likely, I chuckled at the thought of that. I knew the only way I could get to the truth was to ask the warriors who had been affected. They alone had been witnesses to what ever had happened. Morning came faster than I expected, Selena was the first person to check in on me. I couldn't thank her more for that. "You're healing faster now." She remarked as she took my pulse. "Here, have this." She handed me a greyish liquid in a small bottle. "What's it for?" I stared at it suspiciously. I was only hesitant to drink it because it didn't look pleasant to the eyes and the smell was another story on its own. "It's for your wolf." She said. "This one looks different." I pointed out. The usual one I took was always a pink colour.
