Once My Wife, Now the Woman I Watch on Forbes のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 11 - チャプター 20

Eunice POV Catherine stormed into the room like a whirlwind. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her face was twisted with anger. She marched right up to me, her hands trembling as she gripped my shoulder. I could feel the strength in her fingers, as if she wanted to shake the life out of me.“What did you do to my son?” she hissed, her voice cold with disgust.I jerked my shoulder out of her grasp. “Catherine, leave me alone! I didn’t do anything to David,” my heart pounding. She didn’t listen. Her face turned redder, her fists clenched. “Shut up, you daughter of a bitch!” she screamed. “You’re always a failure. You ruin everything for David! You’re nothing but trouble in his life.”Her words cut deep, but I held my ground. “Thank you, Catherine. But this should be the last time you talk to me this way. I’ve left your son for good. I’m not good for him. Fine, you can have him to yourself now.” I threw the divorce papers at her, the sound of them landing on the table was sharp, like a sla

David's POVA soft pain ran through my body like a slow wave. My head ached, and my arms felt weak. My eyes fluttered open slowly, and the bright hospital lights forced me to squint. For a moment, I didn’t know where I was. Then it all came rushing back. The motorcycle. The sound of tires screeching. The moment I leapt without thinking. And then darkness. Now, I was in a hospital bed, wrapped in white sheets, with wires connected to my chest and arms. Machines beeped gently beside me. I turned my head slowly, trying not to strain my neck. That was when I saw her.Eunice.She was sitting on a chair by the bed, her head resting gently against my arm. Her hair was slightly messy, and her face looked tired. She must have stayed all night.I didn’t even realize it when I reached out to touch her. My hand rested gently on her head, and I found myself softly stroking her hair like she was a sleeping baby. I froze as soon as I realized what I was doing. I didn’t want her to wake up and see

Eunice’s POVI was just outside, sitting quietly by the gate with a few people from the area. We were trying to enjoy the cool evening breeze. The sun was already going down, and it left long shadows across the sandy ground. The air smelled fresh, like wet earth there had been a light rain earlier. Some of the kids nearby were chasing each other, laughing loudly, while the older folks sat in their cars, talking about little things like the price of food and how bad the light had been that week.I wasn’t really listening to anyone. Their voices sounded far away, like a soft background noise. My heart felt heavy. My thoughts kept drifting back to David, his face, his voice, the way things used to be before everything fell apart. I stared at the ground, running my fingers over the rusty bars of the gate, trying not to let the sadness show on my face. That was when I noticed someone walking towards me. I saw Benard walking towards me, his steps confident, his phone in one hand and s

Eunice’s POVI stormed out of the hospital room, the sound of my shoes echoing sharply on the cold, tiled floor with every angry step I took. My chest felt tight. My hands were trembling. Everything inside me was boiling in rage, confusion, sadness all mixing together like a storm I couldn’t control. I didn’t care where I was going. I just needed to get away. I needed space to think, to breathe, to not scream. The hallway outside felt empty and too bright. I leaned back against the wall, pressing my palm to my chest as I tried to slow my breathing. My throat felt dry, and my eyes stungThen it hit me like a jolt straight to my chest.“Oh no,” I breathed, barely getting the words out.I had left the gift. The one Bernard gave me. I had placed it carefully on the small side table beside the hospital bed, right before everything went wrong. And now… I walked out on it. Just like that.My chest tightened. That gift meant something, even though I wasn’t ready to admit it. Still, I shoo

Eunice POVDavid is responsible for it…The moment those words escaped my lips, I braced myself for Joyce’s reaction. I thought she would be angry and hurt. I hadn’t told her earlier. She was my closest friend, and she deserved to know. But I’d been scared, and unsure of how she’d take it.But instead of exploding, She smiled.“So you mean I’ll be an aunty now?” she exclaimed, her voice rising with excitement. “Eunice, congratulations!”I let out a relieved laugh. “Yes, and guess what? You can be the godmother.”Joyce gasped dramatically, holding her chest. “You mean it?! Godmother? Don’t play with my feelings, oh!”“I’m serious,” I said, laughing deeply. The tension between us melted. We hugged, and I felt a genuine warmth. It was the kind of hug that wrapped around your fears and made them go quiet. With a calm, comforting tone, she said, “I’m with you, Eunice. Don’t worry. If you need anything at all, I’ll always be here to support you. You're not alone.”Her words hit deep. I did
