Amber’s POV The lukewarm water ran over my skin like pins and needles, numbing the sting of the day. I stepped out of the bathroom, still wet, my mind replaying Mason’s insults and Nate’s bruised face. The air in the room was cooler now, but nothing could cool my anger. I opened my closet and pulled out the softest thing I owned, a pink romper. It matched my mood. Soft, sad, and not in the mood to talk or smile. Just as I finished slipping it on, my room door flung open. “Can’t you freaking knock?!” I half-yelled, turning to face whoever it was, exposing my canines a little. “Chill, girl.
