Nina's POV"The master is busy with Maya. She will be available tomorrow though." The guard informed. "No one would dare that. Who is the master?" I asked, feeling provoked. I needed to have a chat with Maya, but she couldn't come with the guard. "Commander Aiden." The guard said. "The Alpha has made him the master of every wolf trainer. They are under his supervision. Maya is inside his room and they are very busy.""I understand what you are trying to say." I said, letting out a scoff just as Kate gave an approving nod. "You can leave. Make sure Maya finds me when she's done with him." As soon as the door closed up, Kate's eyes met mine. We had the same thoughts running through our minds but none was ready to voice them out yet. I did, eventually. "Maya and Aiden are back in a relationship? Are they seriously having sex?" "It is not surprising to me but it sounds so sudden. I have even forgotten that Maya has had to move to Velmora. It's gonna be really tough to be a slave when

Nina's POV"You know I can't do this. I can get a maid to help you with this, Nina. Don't act too mighty because you are not." Maya boldly stated, sitting on the bed, staring at me. "You are a slave. Jace made you a slave. Maya is a slave to Velmora. You will obey my commands because you don't have a choice." I reminded her. "I didn't know this was the reason why you called me. I could have stayed with Aiden." She rose to her feet as she moved towards the desk, picking up the big notebook. "I'd like to borrow this. I'll return it before the day turns dark. What do you think?" "I think I've got the right people around now." I gave a quiet nod as the door opened, revealing three guards. I'd sent them a message to report to my room. "Keep her behind the bars. Don't make the bail option available. If anyone asks you why she's being locked up, do not answer them. If it's Aiden, Jace, or Killian, then let them know she tried to lay a finger on the Luna of Velmora." I informed the guard

Aiden's POV"Has it ever crossed your mind to seize the position from Jace?" Derek asked, his voice dropping. "Don't tell me you've never thought of that." "He gave me the chance to stay relevant. I don't think it's advisable to attack him. It's a sign of rebellion. Why did it cross your mind?" I asked. "Stop acting like the good guy. Everyone knows how you set up Jace on the issues with Amara, the stranger who bore a four-year old boy. We know the little boy belongs to you but the news hasn't been cast to the public. So, don't act like you're innocent." "No one is perfect. I think that's the word. If we are going to be friends, our beliefs have to align. I don't believe in rebelling to the throne of Velmora. But you do. What does that imply?" I shot back. "It was so tough to get into this pack. Killian eventually convinced Jace to reconcile with me. Don't you think we're going to be good friends if you refuse to be my own friend?" Derek said. That must be a lie. Jace wouldn't bef

Nina's POV"It's a good idea actually but have you considered the consequences that may come with this?" I replied to Jace who sat down across from me, drumming his fingers on the table. "I just want to make my brother happy. To lose that great competition to your brother isn't as easy as you think it is." Jace said, his tone laced with concern. "I know he isn't worth being made happy and alright but I wanna do this. It's a reflection of who I truly am, not what he's done to deserve it.""That's how leaders think. I'm not surprised, but I am impressed, I have to say," I said, nodding as I offered a gentle smile too. "What's on your mind by the way? How do you intend to make him happy? You know he's a rascal guy. What really makes him happy may go against the laid-down rules of the pack.""He brought a suggestion actually, and I said I was going to inform you." He started, clearing his throat. "It's nighttime and we are going to the woods to have fun on the mountains. Don't worry abou

Jace's POV"That was so rough. We barely made it out of there." Nina ranted as we stepped out of the woods. It was dawn already. We weren't able to return to the pack last night because we couldn't find our way out. We could actually kill the rogues standing in our way but saving our energies and finding a safe place for the night looked like the better option. "It could have been much easier if Killian or Kate was around. Both are keen on saving me and you, respectively. But we did. The guards were functional. There were no casualties, especially because of the decision I made, which is to remain in the woods till the following morning." I replied to her. She didn't say anything else till we reached Velmora. The guards moved forward to ensure no one would approach us while some stayed behind. Smiles tugged at our lips as we realized the level of respect from the wolves of Velmora. It was outstanding. And leaders would be motivated to save and lead these people with honesty. "Where
