AutumnThe amount Dare-Devil mentioned was outrageously enormous!I was even certain that it was way more than the box of money that Monaco had shown to me in his office the day he wanted me to carrying out a pending assignment.“This is your father’s hard earned work, Autumn Taylor,” Dare-Devil had said before ending the call. “Monaco’s family is going to get the money he worked for, just as Taylor is supposed to. It is yours to take, Autumn Taylor, and there are no conditions attached to it. I am just a man who doesn’t like to eat from where he hasn’t worked,” he had added. After a moment of thinking deeply about it, I had said, “No, Dare-Devil, I don’t need the money.”“Alright then, but in case you change your mind, you have my cell number,” he had told me, and I had shaken my head stubbornly.Again, Dante had wanted me to say something else, or probably not give a response right away, but I wasn’t listening to him.“I am certain that I will not change my mind,” I had said.Dante

DanteA harsher knock woke me up, causing me to jolt awake. I had barely started sleeping when the knock came, and even though I wanted to ignore it, I knew that I couldn’t.Grumpily, I got up and went to the door, and as expected, it was Romiro’s sternest staff.“How may I help you?” I asked him without even bothering to be polite or start with a pleasantry. He wasn’t polite either, and I was already sick of trying to act nicely simply because I wanted a roof over my head.“You have no right to keep the door locked,” he stated sternly.First of all, I didn’t even realize that I had locked the door. When I came in late last night, I must have done so without even thinking about it because my mind was filled with other thoughts, and I realized that he probably would have forced himself into the room if it hadn’t been locked.Maybe I should be doing that moving forward and pending when I would get to leave.Secondly, I was livid that a common domestic staff would have the audacity to sp

DanteThings became worse when the cabbie returned that same day to ask for his money, literally causing a scene because he thought that I would have paid him off already.“I am involving the police if I don’t get the money right now!” He roared threateningly. “Here, owing is a crime and you could go to jail for it,” he added.Nothing I did to pacify him worked, and soon, Romiro’s attention was drawn to it.“I see that you have decided to make yourself a debtor to everyone,” Romiro mocked. “I am not sure you were warned, but I don’t tolerate such scandals in my estate, so you either give him the money or you leave with him, but bear in mind that the moment you step out of my estate gate with him, you are going to jail,” Romiro added. There was a tone of warning in his words, and coupled with the cabbie’s angry threats, I knew that it wasn’t just throwing words around.I was ready to leave Romiro’s estate penniless and aimless if push came to shoves, but ending in jail wasn’t part of t

AutumnI waited for Dante last night…all through the night as a matter of fact, but he never showed up.“Is he upset with me?” I kept asking myself.Staying stuck in this room just made me really upset, and confused, and restless. I tried to sleep, but even that wasn’t working. Then, at some point, I changed my thought.“Has something happened to him?” I began to ask myself. From the conversation I heard from Romiro, he didn’t have good plans towards Dante. He might have even wanted him dead, and yet, I took that information for granted. What if something terrible had happened to Dante already? My restlessness increased so much that I couldn’t sleep.Again, I did try to call Dante, but it didn’t connect…several times.“Why can I call other people but not him?” I asked myself worriedly. It was morning, but I still wasn’t feeling any better. Someone else brought breakfast, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat anything. I would have asked after Bianca, but I already knew that they were t

DanteAfter I got over the shock of what Autumn just told me, I became deeply curious, as my first thought was that she had eventually agreed to take the money from Dare-Devil.“How?” I asked curiously.Autumn cleared her throat.“A friend of mine is going to send us a little amount of money that can get us out of here,” she answered. My heart fell into my stomach in disappointment, but I decided not to write that off completely.“What friend? Susan?” I asked Autumn. And I would be very disappointed if Autumn was that friend. Besides, Autumn didn’t have any other friend that I knew about aside from Susan.I would be disappointed because two nights ago, I did talk to Susan to help me speak to Autumn to convince her. It was easy to get Autumn to change her mind through Susan because that was the only person I believed Autumn listened to.“No, it’s not Susan,” Autumn answered, looking away slightly.“Then it’s who?” I asked.I was getting a little upset and suspicious, but I wanted to be
