Lydia I walked into the apartment. Mom was in the sitting room, and so were the twins. They were fast asleep, their heads on Mom's lap. “I'm so sorry, Mom, for keeping you worried,” I said, moving to her. I knelt in front of her and rubbed my hand on the hair of the twins. “They refused to be taken to their room. Whenever I tried, they woke up," she said, looking at them.“Oh, my babies.” My eyes turned misty. Why were they like this?
