JALEN’S POVSunday morning, 2:00 A.M.Damn. And when I say damn, I mean DAMN , because Aria is amazing. After three hours of non-stop making love, well, in my eyes it was making love, but in reality, it was some hard-core fucking. My body felt like it had been completely drained, every ounce of me left in her. After that last climax, we both passed out cold.I woke up a little while later with the urge to pee, cursing under my breath as I stumbled toward the bathroom. As I handled my business, I couldn’t help but think, God this feels right. My body was sore, satisfied, and still craving her. I didn’t want this to end. When I came back out, I caught sight of her sprawled across the sheets, naked, peaceful, snoring like a damn grizzly bear. I couldn’t even be mad. It made me grin like an idiot. She looked so good, so soft, so… mine.I licked my lips, temptation burning low in my gut. I could easily climb back in that bed and take her again. But then I caught sight of the alarm cloc

JALEN’S POVI’m staring at my brother Patrick, and this man looks like he’s about to combust. Parker, the calmer brother, drags a hand down his face and sighs.“Bro… what is going on?”I exhale hard. “It’s too much shit, y’all. I’ve been trying to keep you out of it because you don’t need to be in it. I don’t know why she showed up. I didn’t even know she knew where you lived, Pat. How did she get your address?”He shrugs. “I don’t know. Let’s just move this dresser and then the armoire to the basement. The dolly’s over there.”My father, Tucker, walks up, already irritated. “Did you tape the doors down?”Patrick looks at him like he’s losing his mind. “Of course I did. Don’t you see it?”My dad squints, realizes he’s wrong, and mutters, “Oh. Well… yeah.”I’m watching him and realizing he’s more frustrated than I am. Now that’s saying a lot.“Dad,” I sigh, dragging a hand over my face, “we just gotta deal with this a little longer.”He shakes his head. “Son, I’m tired of this shit. I’

JALEN’S POV Well, I’m done for the night. After Talia screamed at me outside of my brothers house loud enough for the whole damn block to hear, she hits me with, “I know you're in love with Aria. The fat cow in there too.”And I swear, every time she says shit like that, it shocks me again. Because Aria is nowhere near that, and even if she were, what the hell does Talia get out of tearing her down?I stare dead in her eyes and say, “Why did you show up here?”She rolls her eyes like she’s doing me a favor. “Because I can.”I shake my head. “How do you even know where my brother lives? You've never been around him. You don’t even know his damn name half the time.”She scoffs. “Jalen, you’re not as smart as you think. You left his address in your GPS. It literally says Patrick’s house.”My jaw tightens. “So you went through my GPS? You took my keys off the hook, went through my car, and did all this shit?”“Yes,” she snaps. “Because you have secrets.”I smirk. “Who has more secrets th

JALEN’S POV Monday MorningMonday morning hits me like a slap to the face.I wake up, roll over, and notice immediately, there’s no Talia. No surprise there. I didn’t bother staying up to see if she came home, and honestly… I couldn’t give two shits. She has embarrassed me for the last damn time. I’m numb to it now. Past numb. Just tired.I pick up my phone out of habit, and the first thing that hits me is Aria’s name. Then the silence.I haven’t texted her since she told me to stop. She meant it, too. She wasn’t reading anything I sent yesterday. I didn’t want to see her messages still sitting unopened, it made me feel like an intruder in her life. So I forced myself to back off, even though every part of me hates it.The clock reads 5:30 a.m.I drag myself out of bed, grab my workout clothes, lace up my runners, grab a bottle of water, and head down to my home gym. Same routine. Same structure. It's the only thing that keeps my head steady.I work out until 6:30, sweat pouring, lun

JALEN’S POV Friday is finally winding down, and all day my chest has felt too tight. I had Michael send that email to Aria the way I promised, asking politely if she’d be okay with me coming to Kendall and Camille’s housewarming. I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. Hell, I didn’t want to make myself uncomfortable either.Michael called me back a few hours later.“She said it’s fine,” he told me.And I stood there in my office, staring at the wall like a damn fool, whispering to myself,Well. I’m not fine. I’m nowhere near fine.I miss that woman so much it feels like somebody’s carving me open from the inside. Every day I don’t talk to her is a new kind of punishment. The urge to text her is like a drug withdrawal. My heart feels like it was cracked in two, and somehow still beating.Earlier this week, Kendall told me everyone was invited.“Bro, everyone we know,” he said casually.I raised a brow. “Kendall, we don’t know that many people in this area.”He sighed. “Okay, okay, w
