A Rival for the Hockey Alpha のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 71 - チャプター 80

Stiles. My blood ran cold. It was like the text had drained me, and my pen dropped from my hand to the table. I stared with my mouth open.“When the Alpha finds a true mate.” That particular part of the text made my brain spin.I read it over and over again, and there was one question that sat firmly in my mind.Riven had met his mate?Damn. I rubbed my face. Was that why the mind link with him had refused to work? But then again, I thought—if truly he had found his mate, that was a good thing, right? So why would he hide it from me, though? That was not something that Riven was supposed to hide from me, was it?I wanted to convince myself that this wasn't the case. But then, what else could it be?Why would he lie to me about blocking it and his father mind-linking and all? This was insane. My fingers flew to my hair, scratching an invisible itch.I leaned back on the chair, staring directly at nothing.I hadn't kept secrets from Riven. I had always been very open with him. We never

Riven.I knew I had said that I wasn’t going to talk about what happened at Northfield, and honestly, I didn’t want to talk about it at all. But then, as I walked out of the suite, leaving Sky and Alex alone in my space, I started to think — what was that attitude that Sky had portrayed back there?Today was my first time seeing him since we came back, and he was acting like… like I was all hot and jealous because his… whatever came to see him.And let’s not even talk about how he seriously ignored my presence like I was a piece of shit that wanted him or…As I walked back into the suite, I changed my mind. I was going to talk to him about that thing that happened back there — at least so he could be crystal clear that it was nothing. Absolutely nothing. And just in case he thought I was stalling for his gay ass. Which would never happen!I stepped inside, and… the aroma of food hit me. He was cooking again. My mind flashed back to the last time he had cooked and how he forced me to

Stiles.I had just finished from Riven’s suite, and I had not been able to enjoy the food as much as I had intended to. The moment I had perceived that, the delicious meal suddenly tasted bland in my mouth. As I walked back to my dorm, my mind kept replaying what I had just witnessed inside there. And right now, there was just one question in my mind: “Who was this guy?”Earlier, I had made sure I wasn't making a mistake or that my senses were playing tricks on me. And every moment Sky got closer to where I was seated, I felt that energy. That aura. I perceived that smell, making me more certain that this wasn't my senses playing tricks on me. That guy had the energy of an alpha radiating in him. But how?Although I hadn't been too close to him, even though we were teammates, I knew for sure that I hadn't witnessed anything like this the few times that we had been together. That energy that I sensed from Sky was the kind of energy that was only seen in an alpha. And Sky was not an alp

Riven. Those words seemed to resound in my ear.I turned back to look at him. My brows furrowed. “What did you say?” I asked, making sure I heard him correctly.Stiles straightened up in his seat. “I said you found your mate. Why did you hide it from me?”An invisible lump formed in my throat. I was suddenly unable to breathe. I swallowed anyway, mentally preparing a wall of defense and a bag of lies.My brow creased together like I didn't understand what he was saying. “Stiles, you—” but he cut me off.“No, don't even think of lying to me again. Don’t.” he said, pointing at his stomach. “Look, my belly is already full of your lies. I've had enough of it.”My heart was now beating faster. I was afraid, yes. But also, I was drenched in guilt — the kind of guilt that came with breached trust. He already knew I was lying, and how he got to know about the mate thing, I don’t know. My only prayer then was that he didn't know who.An itch of guilt and fear came on my ear, and my hand flew t

Riven. As we walked towards the direction that sound had come from, taking slow and deliberate steps because we weren't sure of what it was, and why the person had shouted for help,Then, I heard a loud, deep growl. I paused. I knew Stiles heard it too.My mind spiraled. I turned to look at Stiles.I knew there was just one question on our minds; is this it? Another kill?At that instant, I felt it—a burning sensation on my chest. Hot, tingling. My hand instinctively flew to my chest, grabbing the spot. My fingers dug into my skin through the fabric of my shirt. My wolf, Ford, stirred.“Mate.”“Mate.”“Mate.”Ford chanted. What was the meaning of this? The burning sensation was gradually growing into a painful discomfort, even though I knew that nothing was wrong with me physically.“What is it?” Stiles whispered, looking at my hand, which was clutching my chest. My jaw tightened. I shook my head, “Nothing.”We continued a few more steps, and my eyes caught something. I halted behind
