Semua Bab Ex-husband, You Broke The Wrong Woman : Bab 231 - Bab 240

[Elena]"Where’s Dada?" Darian asked me for what felt like the hundredth time.I bit down hard on my lower lip, my gaze drifting from his small, hopeful face to the chocolate ice cream sitting untouched beside him.His eyes looked empty—too empty for a child his age—glassy with tears that refused to fall as he whispered Asher’s name again.I knew this wouldn’t be easy. I knew having him with me, while being so used to his father, would hurt him. Still, somewhere deep inside, I had hoped, foolishly that it would be different. That it would get easierI wasn’t ever letting Darian stay under Asher’s roof again.Call me selfish. Call me cruel. I didn’t care. I would burn bridges, shatter rules, and walk through fire if it meant keeping my son safe. The thought of what happened right under his roof still made my stomach twist painfully. That was why I had called him last night. Asked him—no, allowed him to come over. To spend time with Darian here, where I could see everything. Where I cou

[Elena]"I’m sure you can start talking right now. What’s going on? No—what exactly has been going on with you?" Natalia growled the moment we stepped back into my bedroom.Right after they settled in, and just when I thought I could distract Lily with question after question, her entire focus was already on going downstairs to play with Darian and Asher. So we had no choice but to take her down to Asher and Darian, packing some of Darian’s building blocks so the kids could keep themselves busy. Now, standing in front of Natalia, I pressed my lips together, staring at the suspicious look she was throwing my way."What exactly is running through that big head of yours?" I snapped. She rolled her eyes."You wouldn’t even want to know. So I suggest you start explaining what the hell is going on."I nodded, but instead of speaking, I took a step forward until I was right in front of her. My lips curved into a small smile as I wrapped my arms around her, resting my face against her shoulde

[Asher]"I can’t thank you enough for this, Elena… I mean, I didn’t expect this… you..."I paused the moment I caught the deadly look she threw my way.My gaze shifted from her to Darian, who was already busy playing with his new friend like nothing else in the world mattered.Elena didn’t just invite me over to see my son — she invited me to lunch.I knew it was the most awkward lunch I’d ever had, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.Sitting at the same table with the woman I thought would never allow me to even breathe the same air as her again — or see my son — meant more to me than I could put into words."Asher, I’m not as selfish as you are," Elena said sharply, "so one thing I won’t ever do is deprive my son of his right to his father."I had to adjust myself on the couch, my chest tightening."I’m sorry for everything...I know...""Keep it to yourself," she growled, and my mouth snapped shut immediately.I glanced toward the dining area, and if looks could kill, I would’ve d

[Elena]"It's your Owen calling," Natalia mumbled and I almost rolled my eyes."Not my Owen. He's just Owen you silly girl." I snapped, taking the phone from her.I stared at the screen, heart fluttering in a way I hadn’t expected. The name gleamed, and my throat tightened for a moment. Taking a deep breath, I pressed the answer button. The moment his voice came through, rich and warm, my body relaxed a little. "Well, if it isn’t the most beautiful woman I know.""Hi, Owen," I mumbled and Natalia saw it fit to wink at me, biting down on her lips."Elena, how are you?" His voice was gentle, steady, the kind of voice that felt like home after a long, restless day."I’m okay," I replied softly. "And you?"There was that familiar chuckle—soft and teasing—that always followed when I asked him the same question. "Just here, working, but honestly, I’m bored out of my mind.""Oh… that’s… sorry to hear," I said, unsure how to respond."Sorry?" Owen growled and my lips immediately curled into a

[Elena]"I have a Mommy but I don’t want her, she's scary!" Darian shouted, tears already streaming down his cheeks. My chest tightened instantly as I stared down at my son.Lily shook her head, about to say something else, but Natalia’s sharp voice cut through the tension immediately."One more word from you, Lily, and you’ll be on timeout for the rest of the day." Natalia snapped, and Lily’s mouth snapped shut like a trap. Her eyes went wide for a brief second, flicking nervously from her mother to me, then to Darian. Suddenly, fresh tears welled up in her eyes. She lowered her head, fingers nervously fidgeting—a habit she always did when she got scolded. My heart squeezed. I bit down on my lower lip, looking at the two innocent children who had no idea how deeply sensitive this conversation was."Lily, come here," I said softly, but she stayed rooted in place, her gaze locked on the nails she was picking"It’s Aunty Lena calling you, sweetheart. Come here," I coaxed gently."No!" D
