The parking lot was busy as the Carrington family arrived at the church, eyes following their movement. Felicia had insisted they all arrived together, putting her hate for Silver aside for appearances' sake.As they entered the church, people greeted them; many mistook Silver's presence as a sign that she was back together with Burke, much to both Silver and Felicia's dismay.Inside the church, an empty casket sat before the altar, a reminder of the body that was never recovered. Silver looked away, gripping her mother's hand tightly.“Let's find a seat," Tatiana whispered, and Silver nodded, sniffing. Bartholomew had come to mean so much to her in the past three years that she never thought this day would come so quickly. They all walked to the front row, and as they sat, Felicia glanced at them.“Try not to embarrass the family." The woman gritted out, irritating Silver, but she held her tongue; she wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of ruining the funeral. The Pastor climbe

Three hours. Three excruciating hours, that was how long Silver and Maya waited for Burke's surgery to be done. Felicia was checked into a psych ward during the period, and Maya went in to check on her, but Silver didn't leave. She couldn't. Not when Burke was opened on a table somewhere, and she wasn't sure he would live or be able to walk again even if he lived. She called the boarding school and spoke with Mathias as Maya was visiting Felicia. Aaron arrived at some point, and they both sat in silence. When Maya arrived, she was startled to see Aaron, who immediately stood up and left after exchanging awkward greetings. If Silver weren't so worried about Burke, she would pause to wonder what the problem between the two was. Eventually, the doctors came out and told them Burke was out of surgery, but they couldn't assure them that he was out of the woods yet until he woke up.So Silver sat beside his bed all night, willing him to wake up. He eventually did exactly at 5 AM the next

Silver came to consciousness with her heart thumping hard; someone was in her room. She refrained from opening her eyes, listening to the intruder's movement. She heard them walk to the couch, they plopped down on it, and opened what she assumed was a bottle of alcohol. The scent of liquor immediately reached her nose, and Silver grew further unsettled. She cracked one eye open and squinted in the dark room to recognize the person. It was Maya. Silver sighed.Pushing up, she stared at her drunk friend in annoyance.“Maya? What are you doing here?" Silver snapped in irritation, Maya belched loudly, and giggled."I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you.” She cackled.Frowning, Silver got off the bed and went to flip the light on. Her eyes caught the bedside clock, and she saw that it was 3 AM. What was she doing here?“Are you okay?" Silver found herself asking as she moved closer to Maya. She didn't look good. She was still in the same clothes she had on when she left the hospital, which

“Easy," Silver muttered, holding Burke steady from tripping as she helped him into the bathroom. This was awkward. And dangerous. But she had to hold up her end of the bargain. Silver was no liar.“Stop using that tone with me, I'm not a child!" Burke utters indignantly.Silver held her tongue from telling him he wasn't acting differently from one.She helped him sit on a stool she had brought in earlier, before going to grab a wash towel. Silver wet the material before taking it to Burke.“Remove your towel." She said, suddenly unable to meet his eyes. This was supposed to be a clinical act, but nothing about helping Burke clean his naked body feels clinical to Silver.Burke hesitated, but he eventually released the material, and as it rolled to the floor, Silver's eyes landed on his rigid manhood. She swallowed, momentarily frozen as memories of the countless times the same dick had brought her immense pleasure swirled in her mind.Burke cleared his throat, snapping her out of the p

Silver stared at her reflection in the mirror in awe. It had been a while since she felt like a beautiful woman. Maya had straightened her hair out and trimmed the edges. She cut her front out into little fringes and applied makeup to her face. Her lips were painted bold red.Silver smiled. She didn't just look beautiful, she felt beautiful.“What do you think?" Maya asked with bated breath. Silver glanced at her.“It's perfect." Silver whispered.“Not yet." Maya smacked her lip and ran towards the luggage. She picked a bright red bag that perfectly complemented Silver's red heels and white suit. Placing it in Silver's grip, Maya stepped back to admire her work.“Now, it is. You'd better start going if you don't want to be late." Silver nodded, flashing Maya a smile before she exited the room. Aaron was waiting for her downstairs, but Burke wasn't in sight. The thought of him seeing her had made her heart skip a beat as she walked down, but she masked her disappointment with a brave
