Shifted Grounds

Aaron blinked repeatedly, certain he heard Silver wrong.“What?" He muttered, his head aching from the sudden shift in the air. He felt like he had been slammed into a wall multiple times, and his head had suffered a massive injury."When did she find out?” He asked when Silver didn't speak.“Yesterday, I think," Silver responded, and Aaron nodded, trying to think, but he couldn't. This was unexpected. How did it happen?Of course, he knew how it had happened, but he could have sworn Maya had told him she was protected. Had she tricked him?It didn't make sense that she would, though.“Listen, I know this is unexpected, but I just wanted you to hear it from me first because the whole family already knew. Burke took Maya to the hospital this morning." Great, Burke knew. So Maya had told everybody except him?"Is she keeping it?” Aaron felt disgusted even asking Silver the question, but it wasn't like Maya respected him enough to tell him the news.“She said she is." Silver whispered,

Who's The Villain?

Burke staggered forward, the scent of alcohol mixing with his body's perfume; oud infiltrated Silver's lungs. Throwing her hands out, she gripped him by the shoulder.“Goodness, you are drunk!" Silver huffed, trying to pull him upright. He struggled off her, stepping into the room. Silver closed the door, rushing after him before he could pass the living room and enter the room. She didn't want him waking Mathias.“Come here." She whisper-yelled, closing her fingers around his wrist just in time. Silver closed the room’s door and led him to a couch. Burke settled in it, his eyes pinned on her as she leaned.“Why did you come here?" Silver huffed in frustration, sweat beading her forehead. This was supposed to be a peaceful weekend to spend with her son!“I told you, I'm here to see you." Burke slurred, attempting to drink more.“Okay, that's enough." Silver yanked the bottle away from him.“Always so bossy,” Burke murmured, eyeing her. Silver felt her neck warmed up from how deep his

I Love You

Silver didn't even have time to reciprocate the kiss before Burke was guiding her to the couch, his strong body radiating heat.Silver moaned, struggling to catch her breath. Her back hit the couch, and Burke came down over her, his weight crushing her in a good way.He broke the kiss and began to kiss down her neckline, biting and licking at the same time.He was driving her crazy!“We have to keep it down. Mathias is in the next room.” She rushed out, grabbing his head as he began to kiss down her cleavage. “Oh, God" "God's not here, but I am,” Burke whispered as he shifted her nightwear to give him access to her boobs. Cold air hit her skin, causing goose bumps to scatter all over her body, and her nipples puckered.“Fuck, so beautiful." Burke groaned as he covered his mouth around one nipple, digging his other hand into her hair to massage her scalp.Silver shivered, her body strung high with raw need; she was practically shaking all over. His skillful action on her breast was m

The Calm Before The Storm

Silver felt like her heart was going to burst out of her chest with the way it was pounding so fast. She remained still; her back plastered to the wall while Burke tried to catch his breath.Eventually, he straightened up, tightening his grip around her waist as he began to move them. Silver tightened her arms around him too, dropping her head on his shoulder. The mingled scent of their sweat hit her nose, and she sniffed, nuzzling his neck.Burke chuckled. He lowered them on the cushion, sighing as he sat. Silver pulled back to peer at him, her heart in her throat. This was it; the storm after the calm. She swallowed, unsure what to say.“Hey," Burke gripped her chin, smiling softly. “Don't go dark on me, alright? I'm still here, we're both here. Let's just stay in the moment, okay?" "Okay.” Silver smiled. Gripping her neck, Burke pulled her toward him, capturing her lips into a heated kiss. She melted into him, a contented sigh leaving her lips. She felt her body awaken again the l

Another Complication

Disappointments were the highlight of her life now, so Silver didn't understand why she was surprised that Burke pulled such a dirty stunt on her.She told herself she didn't care. That didn't need him. But the ache that remained in her heart all weekend said otherwise. When Monday morning came around and she dropped her son off at school, dread filled her as the driver headed for the office. She would see Burke, and she wasn't sure she was ready for that.Through the ride, she kept herself busy with some of the emails her assistant sent her over the weekend. When the car stopped in front of the building, she swallowed as she stepped out.She froze when she saw Burke; he was also emerging from his car. He looked her way, and her heart stopped beating as she searched his face for any sign of friendliness. There was none.He looked away coldly, not even so much as giving her a simple nod. Silver's heart ran cold, and she felt her belly burn with fury. How dare he? Wasn't he the same o

Author's Note

Hii there, this your author, Dunni's Pen. I hope this meets you well. First, let me thank you for giving my book a chance. It has been amazing bringing life to these characters and watching them grow bit by bit. However, it has been brought to my notice that the story has too many twists and it can be complicated for readers to connect with it. Because of this, I am contemplating cutting the story short or possibly rewriting, but first, I want to hear from you guys. What do you think? Do you love the current pace of the story? Are the twists exhausting? What would you like to see that I'm not adding so far and what do you want to see less of? I am committed to finishing this story as it is my debut novel and I want to see it excel. Help me do right by these characters, thank you. Looking forward to your comments, please don't air me. Love you all!!! ♥️♥️♥️
