Semua Bab Rejected Luna : Alpha's Promise, King's Claim: Bab 111 - Bab 120

VENUSBronze and Rowan exchange a quick look. That raises my suspicion. Then Bronze nods. “Yes.”My lips purse. That’s what I thought. I look at Bronze. “So…you were planning this?” I ask him while I feel Rowan’s stare on me. “I couldn’t just stand by and let you be tossed aside like this,” he says in a firm voice. “I know how much this training means to you, Venus. I’m not letting your dreams end here.”A small smile tugs at my lips. I nod. “Thanks… really.”But the feeling in my gut doesn’t go away. Why does it feel like he’s lying and there’s more to this? I don’t have any proof. So I let it go. For now.Rowan checks his watch. “I expect you to be on time for the midnight training,” he says sternly. Then he tosses his suit jacket over his shoulder and walks out of the office without a backward glance. —--------------------The forest is dark and still when I arrive, the only light coming from the moon hanging high above the trees. The air feels colder out here, brushing against

VENUSBefore I can move, his hand gently brushes against my skin and hooks the clasp with practiced ease. I turn slowly, my pulse thundering in my ears.Rowan is standing close to me, his eyes locked on mine. For a split second, I think I see desire flicker in them. The air between us hums, charged with an electric feel that makes me feel aware of every inch of my body. I can’t stop wondering if he saw me earlier in the cave, on all fours, my butt facing him. My heart beats faster at the thought. He hands me my hoodie, snapping me out of my stupid thoughts. “Here,” he says simply.I snatch it quickly and turn away, pulling it on as fast as I can. The hoodie adds some warmth into my body that was freezing under the cold a few seconds ago. I walk out of the forest immediately ,leaving him behind. My chest feels tight and my heart is pounding so loud I can barely hear the crickets. ROWANThe early morning light filters through the tall windows of my office, spilling across the poli

ROWANShe growls back at me. “Then enlighten me, Rowan! This is about my life, my wolf! So why am I kept in the dark?” Her voice trembles with anger and pain. “Everyone treats me like I’m some fragile pup, but I’m not!”“From a very young age, I’ve seen and felt things no child should ever face. I know what darkness feels like. I lived it when I helped Ezra, and it nearly destroyed my health. But when I joined the camp, my body started getting stronger again. I felt…alive.” Her voice cracks slightly. “You snatched all of that away from me in an instant. What am I supposed to make of that? How can I believe you’re helping me?”I observe how frustrated she looks as her chest heaves. “You know what? You’ll never understand me. So it’s pointless to explain.” She says and turns to leave but I grab her wrist and pull her back. She gasps when her chest collides with mine, and for a second, we both freeze. I feel her soft breasts pressing against my body and it makes my cock twitch. Her sweet

VENUSThere’s one truth I want to ask about, one that’s been clawing at me since the night Kyle kidnapped me. Who was he talking about? Who did he mean when he said he knew about my mate? I have a feeling Rowan knows. But I don’t ask. Some questions are like open wounds. The more you touch them, the more they bleed. And besides… I’m with Bronze now. What good would it do to dig into this secret and know who’s truly my mate? I decide to change the topic and say lightly, “You’re very caring towards Bronze. I don’t know why he hates you, but I hope one day he sees how much effort you’re putting in for him.”Rowan smirks and refills his cup. “Maybe he’s right to hate me,” he sounds calm yet distant. “I’m not exactly a good person.”I snort softly. “Can’t argue with that. You’re a total asshole.”He laughs under his breath. “So you’ve figured me out.”Silence settles between us again. The lake glimmers under the moonlight, peaceful and endless, as if it’s listening.“I figured something el

VENUSI gasp as her words sink in. “What?!”“He’s not in the house or in the pack,” she informs. “He’s been missing since the last day.” I sit down on the edge of my bed, my legs feeling numb against the floor. “But… I got a text from him this morning. He said he was fine. He told me not to worry. He told me to stay safe.” Mom pauses and there’s surprise in her voice when she asks. “He did? Did he tell you anything else?” I sense a hint of worry in her voice. Though I believe it’s because she’s stressed about Ezra’s disappearance, a small voice in my head says it’s more than that. “No, that’s all he texted. I found that strange as well.” I reply. Her voice cracks. “I got a message from him as well last night. We couldn’t track the number.” My brows raise. “Maybe he used a burner phone.” I suggest. “Yeah.” She sniffles. “His message just said… ‘Don’t look for me. I’ll return when I’m ready.’”I freeze. When he’s ready?“Ready for what?” I murmur, more to myself than to her. But a
