Semua Bab Rejected Luna : Alpha's Promise, King's Claim: Bab 121 - Bab 130

VENUSShe doesn’t repeat herself. My mind reels. “You mean, this darkness Ezra has—”“It comes from him,” she replies immediately. “Your father. He had it first.”My mouth parts but no words come out.I’d always assumed Ezra’s powers were some strange genetic anomaly. Or maybe something triggered by some witch cursing him. I asked my parents once but the only response I got was that it’s a ‘curse’ But to know that our father had gone through it too, that this runs in the family makes me feel shocked beyond words. “Does Ezra know that?” I ask. “Yeah, he does.” An uncomfortable feeling crawls up my chest. So I’m the only one who didn’t know. Why didn’t they tell me? Maybe they thought I wouldn't be able to handle the truth or didn’t want to burden me with it. But I was carrying it. I have been. Every time Ezra lost control, I was the one who stood between him and the others. I was the one who held him when he went into the darkside and brought him back. Did I truly not deserve to

VENUSRowan’s eyes flash gold again, brighter this time, and my breath catches when I see his claws extend.Claws? Fuck! Is he using his half-shifted form? Only royal wolves can do that. I’ve heard of it but never seen one before. Seeing him like this makes my pulse rocket. He looks otherworldly. Like a beast from the myths and textbooks. “Stop, Venus! You need to focus.” I remind myself. Another wave of his power slams toward me fast. But this time, I’m ready.I inhale sharply and imagine the warmth in my chest expanding and rising to form a barrier around me like a glowing shield. It bursts outward. I let my imagination run wild, believing that it’s strong enough to stop his attacks. The pain in my body starts to lower until it completely fades. I open my eyes. I did it. I stopped it! Rowan’s brows lift just slightly in surprise. But he doesn't wait for me to celebrate my little win. My heart slams against my ribs as he lunges at me again, so fast the air whistles. His claw

VENUS“I just…” I force a shaky smile. “I don’t want to go further until our relationship is permanent.”His brows pull together. “But we’re already together. Isn’t that enough?”“Yes, but…” I swallow. “It’s a secret. Mallory is still the Luna in everyone’s eyes. As much as I trust you, it doesn’t guarantee our future.”His jaw tightens. I watch the frustration creep into his expression as he looks away sharply.“So you still don’t trust me,” he scowls. “I have reasons not to.” I meet his eyes as he looks back at me. “I know there are things you’re keeping from me,” I add softly. “Things that I should know as your girlfriend.”His shoulders stiffen. He knows what I mean.He drags a hand through his hair and begins pacing across the room, tension rolling off him in waves. I can see that he’s debating whether to tell me the truth or not. Bronze stops in front of the window, and rests his hands on his hips while his shoulders look tense. The afternoon light floods the room, bathing it i

BRONZENot even a single fucking muscle on his face moves. It’s like yelling at a damn stone wall.“You’ve got it all wrong,” he says, his tone infuriatingly level. “I’m not your enemy. Your true enemies are right here, in this pack.”“My enemies?” I laugh loudly, in a way to mock his audacity. “Who? The staff? The omegas? The warriors who protect me every day? They serve me. They care for me. They’ve never tried to harm me. So no, I’m not buying your bullshit.”Rowan opens his mouth, and his voice hardens. “Even if you don’t, you need to think about it. The people you trust the most hold immense power over you.Don’t hand them the strength to manipulate you.”I frown at him, the amount of seriousness in his tone making me think a little. Who is he talking about? “Can you stop speaking in stupid riddles and say who you’re exactly talking about?” I ask in frustration and impatience. “They—” He’s cut off by a voice at the doorway.“Your majesty,” Elder Gonalz says, stepping inside. “Wh

VENUS“When I looked toward the forest…” He lifts his gaze to mine. “I saw a pair of golden eyes watching me from the darkness. But the moment I blinked, those eyes were gone.”Bronze’s voice softens as he adds and looks down. “I lost consciousness after that, and when I opened my eyes again, I was in the hospital.”I blink in confusion. “Which hospital was it?”“The pack hospital,” he replies simply.I stare at him. That doesn’t make sense. “How did you get to the hospital? You said you passed out in the forest.”Bronze nods his head. “You must be confused. I was too. Simon told me later that I was found unconscious near the borders. The guards carried me in and got me admitted.”My brows knit tightly. This just keeps getting stranger and stranger. How did he end up near the borders? Someone must have taken him there. But who? And why didn’t they reveal themselves?“Did you find out who brought you there?” I ask.He shakes his head again. “The border patrol said they didn’t see any
