After that last game, Belle didn’t know anything about Bastian anymore. She hadn’t contacted Felix either, even though they went to the same college. Belle just completely shut herself off from everyone and kept to herself. She knew she still hadn’t moved on from Bastian, even if her lips said otherwise. The truth was, she struggled. What Eve once said—that heartbreak should be healed by a new love—was a ridiculous theory to Belle.Instead of running into someone new, she pulled herself away, especially from Felix. The last thing she wanted was to use him as a rebound. Besides, Belle was more comfortable seeing him as just a friend. The only problem? Felix didn’t seem to feel the same way.He often texted or called her, but Belle always replied coldly. Eventually, he started reaching out less—though not completely disappearing.Leaving the library, her favorite quiet refuge, Belle adjusted her oversized hoodie and walked with her head down. It was better this way, less chance of runni

"For me?" Belle gasped in surprise. "What's the occasion for giving me a gift?""It's your birthday.""But that was months ago.""Well, I haven't given you anything yet."Belle fell silent, but the blush rising on her cheeks said it all. Bastian walked over to the cabinet and pulled out a large box. Inside, it was full of clay."Shall we start now? What do you want to make?" he offered."I…"Belle should've said something—anything—to cover up her nervousness. But her mind went blank. She just stood there, frozen, watching Bastian set up the banding wheel and place the clay on top.He pulled out a stool and patted it lightly. "Sit down.""What do you expect me to make?""Anything you want. We could make a vase, an urn, or maybe a bowl?""I don't have any idea." Belle chuckled softly. "Buildings?"Bastian laughed with her. "That'll be your job one day. This is mine.""Well, okay."Belle sat down, her heart racing. Her eyes darted toward Bastian, who filled a bowl with water and placed i

The car stopped in front of the Watson family’s yard, and Belle quickly stepped out. It was 7:00 p.m. when she returned home. She didn’t want to spend too much time with Felix, because Belle needed to think. When Felix asked Belle out, she didn’t give him an immediate answer. She told him she needed time to think it over—even though, honestly, it wasn’t something that hard. After that, things became awkward between them. Belle felt herself pulling away, becoming cautious around Felix. It wasn’t fair of her to do that, either.“Thanks, Felix. See you on campus,” Belle said.“Are you sure you don’t want me to walk you to the door?”Belle shook her head. “Yeah, no. It’s fine.”She quickly waved and ran into the house. Belle hurried up the stairs to her room. Belle didn’t even greet anyone as she entered, her mind in a complete mess.Belle climbed onto her bed and grabbed her phone. The first name that came to mind was, of course, Eve.“Hello?” Eve answered after less than a minute of rin

Was getting into a relationship with Felix really the right decision? Belle started questioning everything. Day by day, there was always something that made Felix grow more protective of her. And that made Belle uncomfortable.Felix began to complain whenever Belle spoke to her classmates, most of whom were guys. Yet, there was nothing romantic about it. Two weeks into dating, Belle started to feel like she was being slowly tied down.As soon as Belle entered her room, she heard the sound of a text notification. When she checked, it was from Felix.“You home yet? Send me a photo. I can’t relax until I know you’re safe, babe.”Every time Felix expressed his concern, he wrapped it in sweet words, leaving Belle speechless. She snapped a picture of herself already inside her room and sent it without adding a message.“You look gorgeous. Alright, as long as you’re home safe. If you’re going anywhere, let me know. I’ll drive you.”Belle replied briefly:“Okay.”Then she placed her phone an

The anger radiating from Felix was almost tangible to Belle. Especially when he was driving—reckless and fast—making her terrified. Neither of them spoke, and the silence between them was tense.“Were you trying to lie to me?” Felix growled. “A relationship won’t work without honesty, Belle.”Of course, Belle knew that. But shouldn’t being in a relationship with Felix mean getting to know and understand each other first? Not like this. She felt like she always had to be the one who understood, who complied with whatever Felix wanted. Meanwhile, he never seemed to care about how she felt.“I went to my brother’s friend’s place. My brother was there. What’s your problem?” Belle tried to keep her tone calm.“You didn’t tell me!”“I forgot, okay? Why are you blowing this out of proportion?”“We haven’t even been together that long, and you’re already lying to me!”That one triggered Belle. All this time, she’d never once deceived him. This was the first time she’d forgotten something, an
