Semua Bab Rejected By The Alpha, Bound As His Luna : Bab 11 - Bab 20

Elena's PovAndrew's thumbs were still pressed against my wet cheeks, warm and steady, but I could not reply to him. The question hung suspended between us, like smoke...*You still want this?*...as every person's eyes in the ballroom seemed to be boring into my back.My wolf responded, growling. My human didn’t like being trapped. Didn’t like the whispers, the laughter, the fact that the blonde girl in the third row was smirking at me from behind a raised hand. But she also felt *him*, the sensation of his touch, the sensation of his heart beating in time with mine.I swallowed hard, tasting the salt from my tears. My voice sounded scratchy. "I don't know," I said.Andrew's jaw clenched, but he didn’t let go. His grey eyes searched mine, as desperate as a man reaching for salvation. He was looking for the girl from last night, the girl he’d held so tightly. The girl who’d threatened him with war if he ever got too close. That girl was in there, deep down beneath the mortification and

Elena's Pov “Get away from her.”Andrew's voice was more like a growl as it rumbled through his chest and reverberated through my back. His arms constricted me like iron. I couldn't breathe. Couldn't think. All that registered was Kael's face...the face that had haunted my nightmares all these years, the face that had watched me whenever I was a kid playing in the woods that bordered our land.Kael cocked his head to one side, observing us as if we were entertaining insects. “Still so possessive, Andrew. But she was mine first. Contracts are binding, particularly those signed in blood.”“That contract is null and void,” Rowan moved forward, his hands clenched on his staff to the point that his knuckles turned white. “Elena was just a kid. She didn’t know what she was doing. She didn’t give her consent. Her father had no right.'“Her father had every right.” Kael produced another piece of paper. The paper was new; the signature was dated recently. “This is his signature,” he said. “W

Elena's Pov"Who in the hell are you?"The words spilled from my mouth before I could even think them. The woman at the edge of the clearing smiled at me as if I'd just asked her something hilarious.Andrew’s hand was still latched onto mine, but his grip had turned rigid. His entire body was tense, as if a guitar string was stretched to the point of breaking. I’d never witnessed him this way...not angry, not defensive.Afraid..."You don't know?" The woman raised an eyebrow, her ice-blue eyes sparkling maliciously as she turned to Andrew. "Oh, this is hilarious! Andrew, sweetheart, didn’t you tell your little omega about me?""Selene." Andrew's tone was flat, emotionless. "What are you doing here?"I felt my stomach drop. Selene. A name I'd heard whispered behind trembling hands, the woman Andrew's mother wanted him to marry, the woman who'd smiled at me with such cruel intent during my rejection. But she was different now. She was dangerous. The wolves at her sides didn’t belong to

Elena's POV"You're glowing."I woke up to Clara's voice in my head the next morning. I sat up in bed, running my fingers over the place on my neck that, even now, tingled from Andrew's touch, his kiss, his whispered prayers of my name in his mouth."I'm not glowing," I grumbled, but my face felt heated up."Yes, you are." Clara sat at the edge of my bed, her arms crossed. " And before you’re off to find your mate-bond, I think we better talk, yes, I do."I finally turned to look at her. At her seriously, as if she wasn’t playful at all, but concerned."What's wrong?""You." She took hold of my hands. "Elena, I love you. You’re my family. I'm going to say what I always know you won’t want to hear."I felt my stomach contract in response to this news"Don’t trust him yet." She clenched her fist. "Andrew rejected you three days ago. Three days! In front of the entire pack! He disillusioned you, he smashed your heart, and now he’s kissing you, calling you his?""'The bond...""This is ju

Elena's Pov “You’re lying."“I am?"She took out a folded piece of paper from her pocket. Old, yellowed, and soaked with signatures. “That is a copy of the original contract. Read it for yourself.”She shoved it at me. I grabbed it, my hands trembling. The words swam before my eyes. Legalese. Pack slang. But then, at the bottom, in writing that was unmistakably from old letters...the signature, my father’s.In exchange for our safety during the war and safe passage with my family, my firstborn daughter will go to Alpha Kael of Shadowfang as his mate and future Luna. *This binding contract is set to go into effect on her eighteenth name-day.*The paper crinkled in my fists. “Protection during the war? What war?"“The one from twenty years ago.” Selene observed me as if she were a cat and I were a mouse. “That’s when rogues attacked the Northwest Pack. Your father was frightened. Afraid his family will be murdered. He went into a trade...Kael will send soldiers to guard your land, and
