MEGAN’S POVThe hotel employee greets me with a polite smile as he holds the door open.“Welcome, Miss Pierce,” he says warmly. “We hope you find everything to your satisfaction.”I nod and offer a quick smile as I grip Maverick’s small hand while Makayla clings to my other side.Behind us, Gwen, the twins’ nanny, pushes our luggage cart smoothly. Warm light spills into my pack office through the large windows, soft and peaceful, completely opposite of the chaos in my head.I’m half-seated, half-slouched in this damn leather chair, staring at the corner of my desk like it personally offended me.I should be thinking about the deal. About the impact losing it will have on my company, my pack. It was a major blow, years of planning flushed down the drain in a single meeting I wasn’t even present for.
