Aria's pov Across the hall I spot Misha and her clique. She’s staring at me with hatred sharp enough to cut into my skin. I shift down in my chair, but Lucien’s arm lifts and lands across my shoulders in a smooth, casual claim. Heat rushes through me. Adrian’s hand rests suddenly on my thigh and my lungs stop working. Aria’s povThursday came quicker than ever. The placement room we convey in is shaped like a long theatre and the air is thick with magic. Students sit on stone pavements carved in neat lines.
