All Chapters of Fractured Promises: Chapter 161 - Chapter 170

“Kai, can you drop me off to my house?” The three of them were now inside his car while he drove. Claire has finally gotten silent after talking consistently for the past hour. “You need to get anything?” he asked before glancing at her. Ellyse shook her head, “nope, I need to talk to Riden.” Upon mentioning her old friend’s name, Claire immediately sat up. “You’re going to see Doctor Riden, mom?!” Her daughter was thrilled to know about it but she knew pretty well that Kai disliked the idea. He was never fond of the guy, atleast after finding out that he was Agatha’s ex-fiancée. “Yes, Claire. But you cannot come because you have to take your nap,” she informed her, making her pout. “You sure you don’t want us to wait for you?” he asked again. She thought about it for a moment before shaking her head. She’d feel pressured to quicken their conversation knowing that the

“Agatha,” it’s been a while since Ellyse heard that name roll from Kai’s mouth. For some reason, she felt her heart jump upon hearing it. “Why’d you call all of a sudden?” she asked, pleasantly surprised. Their eyes met before he uncomfortably shifted in the sun lounger, “I just wanted to know how you’re doing. Are you safe?” There was a long line of silence that sat between them before they heard her voice again. Amidst all of that, Ellyse kept quiet. “Yes…yes I’m safe and I’ve been doing…I don’t know Kai. Not having you around hurts, and what pains me the most is the fact that you’re probably seeing your ex more often now,” gone was her surprised demeanor, replaced with anger. “Look, Agatha, what happened between you and I is long finished and I know I’ve made that clear to you. I simp

Ellyse was overjoyed to know how the upstairs looked as good as the downstairs. There were two rooms: a bedroom and a study. Initially, she thought that maybe there will be a couch inside the office or maybe a folding bed that she could lay on to sleep. However, the study only had a desk, a swivel chair, book shelves and cabinets. That was it. “The interior designer was very keen on making everything look sleek and traditional,” Kai spoke from behind her. “I like it, it’s very…cozy,” she smiled while running her fingertips on the desk’s wooden table. “I’m glad you do,” he smiled. Then, they went to the master’s bedroom. It wasn’t really that big but it was still spacious. There’s a big king sized bed in the very middle, and in front of that is a console table with a TV sitting on top. There’s also a bathroom and a walk-in closet that was also decorated nicely. Ellys

Ellyse arrived at the Giorgio mansion a few moments later. Their family owns Giorgio International Airways which is one of the reasons why Xander decided to pursue aeronautical engineering and become a full-blown pilot. She parked her car outside the house before stepping out of it while carrying her clutch. She was greeted by the helpers when she entered the premises of their house. “Good evening, ma’am,” says the maid with a small smile on her face. She nodded to regard her presence before following her to the dining area. It seems like she’s the only one they were waiting for since everyone was present, except for her father. She plans to visit him tomorrow. “Ellyse, finally,” her mother immediately had to put on a fake mask, like everything was going well between them. The fake smile she wore on her face made her feel disgusted. She couldn’t even fully embrace her mother because she knew exactly what the purpose of that dinner was. “Mom,” she replied coldly before

The interrogation room was colder than Ellyse expected. She sat across from Detective Reynolds at a metal table, her hands resting together in her lap as she tried to keep them from trembling. There was nothing particularly intimidating about the room itself—just four pale walls, a fluorescent light overhead, and a small camera mounted in the corner—but the silence made it feel suffocating. Reynolds had been sitting across from her for several minutes without saying much, simply looking through the folder in front of him as though he already knew exactly what he wanted to ask. “Ellyse, we meet again” he finally said, lifting his eyes toward her. Ellyse’s expression remained composed, though his statement immediately made her stomach tighten. “Yesterday we interrogated Alex Walker in hopes of finally getting information out of her,” he began saying. “For the first time in weeks, she finally told us something,” he stopped browsing through the folder filled with documents to
