Let the pain linger, they said. And Ellyse sure did. She cried herself to sleep that night, recalling every single thing that happened during their marriage. Claire greeted Ellyse with a warm hug when she saw her. She was back to being her usual, happy and talkative self. She was telling Ellyse about her classmates she had a crush on. When Ellyse came back to Kai’s room, he was already fast asleep on the bed. She tip-toed beside him before finally lying down. Moments later, she finally dozed off.The next morning, she wanted to prepare breakfast for her in-laws and Claire so she woke up earlier than usual. Like usual, Ellyse fetched Claire from school after what happened and then went straight home to continue working on her sketch.
