Ellyse was woken up by the guard of the building, apparently, it’s now 11PM and she’s the only one left in the building.“Oh my goodness,” She wipes the drool off her cheek before forcing herself to standup despite the tiredness she was feeling. “By the way ma’am, Sir Kai went to check on you earlier but it seems like you were asleep when he came,” The guard says which caught Ellyse off guard. Kai went to see her? For what reason? Isn’t he supposed to be off work already?“He did?” She asks, shock written all over her face.“Yes ma’am, he asked us to wake you up,” He stated.“Is he still around?” Ellyse asks curiously. For some reason, the news of Kai going there to see her woke her up from her reverie.“I don’t think so, Ma’am,” The guard states with finality before leaving Ellyse by herself.She sighs heavily, cleaning up the mess she made on her desk and stuffing her pens and the floor plan inside her

When Ellyse went to the restaurant not far away from their villa, Kai and Claire were busy talking about something. From afar, she could already hear her daughter’s loud and high-pitched voice.“Oh! And I also want to ride a yacht dad!” Claire beamed with excitement.“Alright sweetie, we’ll do that tomorrow don’t worry,” Kai assured her, patting her head.“Hi,” Ellyse said while walking. Both of them turned their heads toward her as soon as they heard her voice.“Mom! Come sit beside me please,” Claire said. Kai was seated at Claire’s left side, there was a vacant seat on her side which is where Ellyse sat on. It was already noon but it didn’t feel hot, the breeze of the beach was refreshing along with the relaxing sound of the waves crashing.“We already ordered for you, do you want anything else?” Kai moved the menu sitting on the wooden table towards her.“No, it’s fine. Thankyou,” She plastered on a small smile

Ellyse woke up the next day with Claire shaking her and Kai’s body nonstop. “Mom! Dad! Let’s swim in the pool!” Their villa had a built in swimming pool just outside of the veranda. It was an infinity pool that had the view of the beach from afar.“Claire…it’s still so early,” Ellyse complained while rubbing her eyes.“Please! I really want to swim, Mom!” Claire was determined to have both of her parents accompany her to the pool.“Wait, Claire,” Kai said before sitting up.Ellyse also followed, yawning and stretching her arms. When Claire saw both of her parents up, she giggled excitedly before hopping off the bed.“I’ll change into my swimming attire myself!” She declared before quickly leaving the bedroom. Ellyse only sighed, looking over at Kai who now has his eyes glasses on. He took his phone, scrolling on a few emails and then typing something.She didn’t utter a word and hopped off the bed to foll

Ellyse was seated with Claire at the airport again. Poor girl, she was so tired from all the long rides they went through just to get to the airport. “Mommy, when we go back home, are you gonna stay with us again?” Claire peers at Ellyse who’s busy emailing her client. “I’m sorry, Claire. But I have a pending client and I’ll be busy for the following days. But don’t worry, mommy’s still gonna pick you up from school. Okay?” She gave her head a light pat but Claire pouted. “Are clients more important than me?” She suddenly says, shocking Ellyse. Something stabbed her heart when she heard Claire say that. She must’ve been really busy for her to feel that way even though Ellyse tried hard to balance her time. “Of course you’re more important! You’re my baby, right?” Now her whole body is fully facing her. She felt a surge of worry entering her system. Ellyse slept with Claire that night. She didn’t want to bump into Kai so she tried her very best to stay in Claire’s room as much as possible.The next morning, Ellyse woke up bright and early to prepare their breakfast. This was the usual routine when she used to live here. Nerisa would bathe and dress Claire while she cooks.She went into the bathroom to freshen up before going downstairs. She saw Kai sitting at the living area while typing something on his laptop. He didn’t really see her so she hurried up to the kitchen.Normally, Ellyse would ask Kai what he wanted for breakfast. But today, she didn’t even bother to make her presence known to him. She was craving chicken marinated in soy sauce today so that’s exactly what she cooked. It wasn’t normally a go-to breakfast food but it was something she’d been thinking about.Cooking was something Ellyse had been accustomed to doing. Before her and Kai got married, she had no idea
