MY EX WANTS ME BACK? NOT A CHANCE! のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 11 - チャプター 20

JOCELYN’s POVDaniel stopped the car and stepped out without a word to me. As expected. I rushed out of the car with my bags and hurried to catch him, his long footsteps only putting more distance between us, but God forbid I even ask him to calm down. The embarrassment and humiliation I’d felt from the actions of the previous days was enough. From finding out my boyfriend I’d trusted had been cheating on me with my closest cousin and was making plans to take my company from me. To actually getting married to the obnoxious man I was running after to catch up to, the only thing I had left was my pride, and I was going to protect it with everything in me.It felt like we'd been walking for hours when we got to the door out of the garage into the lobby probably because I'd had to race with two bags and a handbag that was getting heavier with each step I took but the silence that filled the place stopped my tiredness. I stopped in my tracks and looked around, it really was just us in the

CLARISSA’s POVI watched Jocelyn enter her room and grabbed my mother into the kitchen, both of us bursting into fits of laughter. I laughed until tears came out of my eye and still the humour hadn’t lost its power. I tried my best and finally the laughter turned to the occasional shaky breath. A look at my mother’s face had the laughter starting again and I had to bend to relieve the pain that had started in my lower abdomen. Mom’s change in position told me she was feeling the same pain and that somehow kept the laughter going. We kept on laughing for at least five minutes before we both took control of ourselves.I was finally able to stand upright without feeling like dying and I raised my palm up and Mom slapped hers against mine.“I keep on telling you two. I should have been an actress.” Mom complained.I had to nod, this time I could see exactly what she had been trying to tell us. I placed my palm against my chest. “I pledge to never discourage you from pursuing your dream ag

DANIEL’s POVWhat the hell was that? I glanced at Jocelyn, unsure if the sound had come from her, it had sounded like a cat in pain. I glanced at the speedometer and accelerated, I could still go ten kilometers more. I glanced at Jocelyn again and saw she was reading something on her phone, completely enthralled.I shook my head. As I’d expected, she was one of the most emotional women I’d ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I could guess what exactly was happening. Another article had come out again, and it had that much power to affect her to this point. If she was this weak willed, how did she expect to survive as my wife?I removed her from my thoughts and concentrated on getting home. One of the start-ups we’d initially invested in was well on its way to closing down after failing to meet compliance and regulatory standards. Another was going to be acquired by one of our sister companies for overdependence on funding and no sustainable revenue, after three years. One of my m

JOCELYN’s POVI dished the mac and cheese into two bowls and covered mine, dropping it on the counter before focusing on the second bowl, adding prettily cut fruits into it. I sighed after a few minutes of searching all the cupboards and not finding even an ugly tray. Why had I even thought I would find one? I’d had to search the cupboards on top before finding the pretty bowl I’d dished Daniel’s food in. I gave up on finding a tray and took along a bottle of soda in one hand and the hot bowl of mac and cheese in my other hand, praying all the way upstairs I would endure the heat and not drop the bowl before I got to my destination.God seemed merciful and aside from a permanent wince and groan in my throat, I got to the front of Daniel’s study with the items in both hands still there. I dropped the bottle of soda, knowing I won’t be able to pick up the bowl if I dropped that instead, and knocked on the study door. A few minutes passed before a voice finally called a ‘Come in.’I scof

JOCELYN’s POVI leaned against a wall and closed my eyes, trying to reorient myself. The flashes and yells of questions were even more unbearable today. I opened my eyes after a few minutes and, ignoring the employees that were staring at me, headed to my office, whistling. At the very least, I’d survived the morning I’d been dreading since yesterday, the thought of this morning had robbed me of my sleep. But life had to happen, and my happy bubble was burst. I tried ignoring Clarissa and staying on my path to my office, but she came to stand in front of me, her arms in front of her chest and eyes shooting daggers at me. Even though I was aware of the fact that my being doxxed had affected her, I firmly believed she had no right to get angry with me. She was the cause of everything, and the thought of the text she’d sent to me yesterday still made me want to clench both my jaws and fists, so I won’t accidentally punch her in the face. I crossed my arm in front of my chest as well. Sh
