Pain shot through Selena’s elbows as she hit the cold hard floor. “I don’t ever want to see you again!” The man shouted at her, and she blinked only for her vision to be blinded by tears for a few seconds. She watched him shut the door of his office, the sound echoing in the waiting area. When she finally got off the floor, her eyes landed on the secretary. The guy had his hand to his mouth and his eyes wide in shock. “Oh my god,” he finally spoke after a few seconds. “Are you—“ he walked from behind the desk and closed the distance between them. “Are you okay?” Selena wiped her face with the back of her hand, trying so hard to be strong. But she felt like bawling her eyes out and screaming in pain. Yet, she flashed him a small sad smile and nodded. Then she made her way past him before he could ask her any more questions. She wasn’t in the mood for talking right now. The moment she made it out of the area, she pulled on the hood of her hoodie and walked as fast as she could.

A knock sounded at the door, causing Selena to open her eyes. The room was dark and quiet, except for the soft sobs that had been escaping her mouth. For the last half hour, she had been crying.
