Pain shot through Selena’s elbows as she hit the cold hard floor. “I don’t ever want to see you again!” The man shouted at her, and she blinked only for her vision to be blinded by tears for a few seconds. She watched him shut the door of his office, the sound echoing in the waiting area. When she finally got off the floor, her eyes landed on the secretary. The guy had his hand to his mouth and his eyes wide in shock. “Oh my god,” he finally spoke after a few seconds. “Are you—“ he walked from behind the desk and closed the distance between them. “Are you okay?” Selena wiped her face with the back of her hand, trying so hard to be strong. But she felt like bawling her eyes out and screaming in pain. Yet, she flashed him a small sad smile and nodded. Then she made her way past him before he could ask her any more questions. She wasn’t in the mood for talking right now. The moment she made it out of the area, she pulled on the hood of her hoodie and walked as fast as she could.

A knock sounded at the door, causing Selena to open her eyes. The room was dark and quiet, except for the soft sobs that had been escaping her mouth. For the last half hour, she had been crying. Just laying there and crying on the cold hard floor. The knock sounded again and she breathed out a sigh as she pushed herself to her feet. Her head ached and her stomach twisted in hunger, yet she didn’t have any appetite. She made her way over to the door and opened it. Standing there was Beta Leon. He had a look on his face that told her everything she needed to know; that he was not here to comfort her or anything like that. “We need to leave, there’s a meeting the council have called and you have to be there,” he explained. “Maddox and Cassie will take another car and I will drive you there myself.” “I…” She really didn’t feel like going anywhere. She was depressed and just wanted to stay in her dark room and keep crying until sleep would steal her away. “I know, but trust me,

“Step forward, omega,” One of the councilmen said, his eyes trained on her.Selena felt her heart pounding against her rib cage, and she hated that Leon was not in the room with her anymore. She felt almost alone, but then when she looked towards the alpha, a peace she couldn’t explain filled her heart. He flashed her a small smile, and that was all she needed. She turned her attention back to the councilmen and stood before them. She remembered that she was told to not speak unless spoken to, so she took that advice and just stood there.“You are aware of everything that’s happening, right?” The man continued. “The dark prophecy hanging over our pack, the alpha leaving a girl who was going to be our Luna, the thing with Elijah’s hand being broken and all that. You are aware of it all, yes?”Selena swallowed and nodded, then she verbally responded, “Yes, I am.” She glanced at her father but the man was trying his best to avoid eye contact with her. He was looking everywhere but at he

Beta Leon had pocketed his phone, then he tried to wake the omega once more. But then he finally gave up and decided to carry her inside. He somehow got her out of the car and in his arms, taking her towards the mansion and taking her inside. As soon as he entered, he met the alpha.“Gosh, you guys sure took your sweet time,” Maddox said, chuckling. Then his eyes landed on the omega. “Is she—is she okay?”Leon flashed a small smile, standing there. “She’s just tired. It’s been a very long day for her,” he said in response. The alpha nodded, then he took a step closer. “Can I?” He gestured towards the girl’s sleeping form.“Oh, of course,” the beta replied before carefully handing over the girl.“Thank you,” he whispered in return after he had taken Selena into his arms. He then turned and took her to her room, placing her in the bed.He took off her shoes and tucked her in, making sure she was comfortable. Then he sat there on the bed for a few long seconds, just staring at her.It w

The sun was hot and Selena didn’t know if it was the heat or the fact that she was so nervous that she felt sick, but she was sweating. She removed her hoodie but it still didn’t help. She was standing in front of the group of people and it was time for her and Cassie to fight.Well, practice fighting. Right…? But from the look on the blonde girl’s face, the omega knew that this day was not off to a good start. She just knew that this whole sparring thing was a terrible idea.“Remember, both of you aren’t allowed to shift. Stay in your human forms and fight,” Axiel explained, worry evident in his tone. “This is about learning, and Cassie, please remember that you’re not doing this with a member of your group, but someone lower than you in rank and fighting skills.”“Whatever,” Cassie muttered before making sure to put her perfect hair in a ponytail. She took her stance and Axiel stepped back, giving them space.Selena didn’t even know what stance she was supposed to take. She had onl
