Selena was shaking, scared to the bone as she stood there, the alpha towering over her. “I’m sorry, sir.” That was all she could say.But truthfully, she really was. She really was sorry for what she had said about him and his parents that night. It wasn’t fair to him.Her excuse would be that he had triggered her by talking about Elijah rejecting her, but still, she should have known better. The man breathed out a sigh and then pulled away. “Just don’t…just don’t do it again.” He walked over to the bar area in the room and poured himself a drink before turning his attention back to the omega. “I’ve discussed with my beta and the council. Your charge remains dropped but there’s no way you’re going to get paid for damages.”As an omega, Selena wasn’t surprised. This was one of the reasons she didn’t even have her hopes high concerning it. She was just happy her charge had been dropped. “Honestly, I don’t care,” she said in a monotone. “We omegas are used to not getting what we actuall

The wind blew in Selena’s hair as she stared out the window of the moving car. She had no idea where they were going but she was intrigued about it.It was quiet until they finally came to a stop. They were a bit far away from civilization, surrounded by a lot of trees. This was the first time that the omega had been here. The guy killed the engine and turned to her. “Are you okay?” He checked on her.She nodded. “Mm-hmm.” But she was lying. Yeah, she was okay, but at the same time, she wasn’t. She kept worrying about her sister, thinking if there was anything that she could do to help. But she knew that the truth was she couldn’t do a thing. She couldn’t even pray to the imaginary goddess in the sky since she didn’t believe in that kind of thing anymore. She was also on her toes about Elijah’s rejection. It felt like a wound that kept reopening. She already knew what to expect, and even though she didn’t like it and had not fully made peace with it. She just wanted it to be over wi

“I am not a cheater!” Selena shouted the words when she finally stopped. She was facing the car, her eyes locked on the alpha. “I am not! I will never cheat on anyone, and nothing you say or do is going to make me believe in the Moon goddess or a stupid mate bond!” Tears ran down her face freely.“I know, I know,” He replied, his voice soft and calm. He had stopped the car, looking right back into the eyes of the girl who was stealing his heart very slowly. A girl who he could never end up with because of who she was and who he was. “Can you just…can you please get in the car? It’s getting late, Selena.”The omega glanced at the sky and saw that the sun was already setting. She needed to get into the car. She looked back at him, sighed before opening the door and getting in.She fastened her seatbelt and they were on their way in no time. After a few minutes of silence, she looked over to him and finally spoke, “I literally confessed to having feelings for you and you accused me of ch

Selena was trying so hard to wrap her head around the conversation she had eavesdropped on. She kept replaying it in her head. It was literally the same thing that Cat had said she had seen in the spirit world. As much as the omega wanted to believe that it was nothing but a coincidence, it was kind of hard to do that.Cat had talked about how Selena had been in the Spirit World and had been levitating with glory all around her and her hair white as snow.If whatever prophecy that Alpha Maddox and the others had been talking was true, then that meant that she was supposed to be the Luna who would save the pack. But come on, that was just ridiculous. It was. Selena wasn’t going to change her mind about not believing in the Moon goddess and those kind of things. She couldn’t even help herself, how was she supposed to help the entire pack? And how was she going to become Luna of a group of people who would rather die than to ever allow an omega to rule them? And let’s not forget, as muc

Selena was no longer crying but her heart was so heavy. Her head ached and her body felt like it had been beaten by twelve men. She still couldn’t believe or wrap her head around the fact that Elijah had really finalized the rejection; that he had made it public. She kept replaying the night she had messed it up, in her head like a broken record. If only she would have done things differently. But she knew there was no going back in time, it was just impossible. She had to accept things as they were.“We have to hurry, I just got a text that Elijah is already at the Chambers,” Leon Beta said as he led the way out of the mansion. He reached one of the fancy cars and got in, soon sitting behind the steering wheel and bringing the car to life before turning and watching the omega get in.Selena wanted to feel numb, she wanted all the voices in her head to just shut up, but that was easier said than done. She was being tortured by her emotions; by her own heart and mind. They had ganged
