KYRA I went for a stroll in the garden, it was dawn and the third day of my deadline to find any information concerning Zyran. The last couple of days have been really uneventful and after Zyran left my room that night, I've not seen him, neither have I see Astrid.Even the warden wouldn't let me out of her sharp watchful gaze. Everywhere was becoming to seem suffocating, even my own room. It felt like everyone was watching me and every step I took. Maybe this was what he wanted, to have me on the edge and I'm playing right into it.I'm letting him get into my head.Still, I couldn't get rid of the prickling feeling at the back of my head every time I left my room, it's why I am on this stroll.I needed a breath of fresh air.The feeling was gone, either the spy was bored or I'd managed to escape whoever it was.I found a spot underneath a big old odd tree which had a different flowers growing on it and just stayed there, doing nothing and just staring into the nothingness. When th

KYRA I stared at her, unblinkingly. A deafening sound rang in my ears, and the corridor spinned under my gaze."Kyra..."The voice sounded so distant, so out of reach, like I was in another dimension. My mother. The world became blurry.Astrid was staring at me with something akin to pity. I covered my head with my hands and took a step back, shaking it vigorously. "No.. please," I begged, the words catching in my throat, "Tell me the news you have for me. That can't be it. I know you hate me, but do you have to go that far?""Your mother is dead, Kyra.""Stop saying that!" I screamed, something warm and liquid rolled down my cheeks, "Please stop saying that. That's not possible. It can't be, my mother can't be dead.""Sorry for your loss. You can take the day off to mourn and then submit a letter to the warden when it's time for your mother's funeral." Astrid raised her hand, then clenched it and left. I collapsed to the floor, drew my knees up, and buried my head in it.My moth

KYRA He dumped me on the car seat, sat beside me, and ordered his driver to go.My heart bear frantically in my chest. If Alpha Jace saw me there, he'd feel disrespected and angry that I disobeyed him. He's going to kill another of my family.Another death will be on me because the Alpha King is too stubborn to accept no.I hit his arm n frustration and in anger, "Just let me go, please. I really don't want to go to the funeral."He didn't budge. "Stop the car, please. I beg you, stop the car."No response. I hit him harder, "Since when do you care about your Lunas in training?""Since one of them became my mate.""A mate you don't want, remember?""Doesn't mean I won't pay special attention to you. You begged for it, didn't you? Now you have my attention, don't you like it?""I don't need your attention to go to my mother's funeral!!" I cried, feeling very angry."Stop," he ordered. I froze and blinked, staring at him, momentarily forgetting how to breathe."What?" I muttered, st

KYRA "Go on," Zyran urged, "We don't want the food to get cold, and besides, I love the sounds you are making with your mouth. So continue.""I... uh... I'm full your Majesty, thank you for the meal.""Eat omega," he ordered without looking at me, but I swear the temperature in the dining room dropped."Eat.." Susan whimpered, staring at me nervously, "Please don't put us at the risk of his anger. Did you see the golden hue in his eyes just now?""No, I didn't see." I murmured back, picking up my spoon."I don't care, just eat!!" Susan yelled in a half whisperI glanced around and caught sight of Eve glaring at me with so much hate."So," Eve started sweetly, "about the hunting festival. I know it's going to be me, but can you say—"Zyran raised a finger up, cutting Eve short. "Decorum at the table. We're eating.""But you're done, so is almost everyone at the table. We're all just eager for you to make your choice.""The omega is eating," He answered with a tone of finality, sparin

KYRA "Great, just great!" I snapped, throwing the paper on the floor and stamping on it aggressively. Then I picked it up when I felt a little better and put it under water for it to melt away.I leaned against the doorframe and thought back to my day. The letter was definitely brought in when I was in the training room. The ladies were all there except for the grumpy girl. She left immediately after the first question, but she couldn't, right?Still, things weren't adding up. She healed my wounds even when I told her nothing was wrong. How did she even get to know about it in the first place because I sure as heck dint remember flaunting it.I shook my head and leaned off the door frame to prepare for dinner with Zyran.I'd lost my excitement now. It is just going to be one boring dinner. After I finished dressing, I found a guard waiting outside my room to take me to the dinner's location. It was on the rooftop on the palace. I could see almost all the pack's building Zyran was a
