Chapter 27Tessa Ford ~•~ FOUR YEARS LATERAs soon as my eyes fluttered open, I stood up from the bed and went over to the kids’ room to check up on them. It was my routine every morning. I just wanted to make sure that they were okay. When it came to my kids, I was really overprotective. As I opened the door slowly, I realized that they were already awake. A bright smile plastered across my face. I went over to Jade’s bed first and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. “Good morning, mama.” She whispered in a slightly groggy voice. “How was your night?” “My night was fine,” I responded as I tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. But that was a lie, my night wasn’t fine, but I couldn’t tell that to my three-year-old daughter. “Did you sleep well?” I asked. She nodded. “Yes, I slept like a baby.” When I was done with Jade, I went over to Jack’s bed. He had been waiting patiently for me, so he was so excited when I finally got to him. “Good morning, mama.” He smiled
