They Killed Me, But Fate Gave Me A Second Chance For Revenge のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 31 - チャプター 40

DAISYTwo weeks have passed since that raging call with Gigi. Two weeks of knowing that Louise is out to destroy my reputation back home. Gigi has been keeping me updated, and with every call, the news only gets worse.People are doubting me and questioning whether I'm fit to lead, wondering if my gold card was just a fluke. But I can't think about the rumors right now. I can't afford to let Louise's games distract me from what matters.Round Three starts today. And I need to win it.Opening my eyes, I breathe out a sigh, staring at the tiled bathroom wall in front of me as the warm water from the shower head keeps spraying all over my body with the steamy curls rising from my skin.I'm stronger now. Smarter. And I refuse to let anyone take my birthright away from me.‘You ready for this?’ Rayla asks.‘I have to be.’‘That's not what I asked.’‘I'm ready,’ I reply with more conviction. ‘Are you?'‘Always,’ she purrs. 'Let's show them what we're made of.'She's right.I turn off the wa

DAISY Little Follower. That's what I called her in my head back then because she always seemed to be following the stronger contestants around, trying to stay safe by staying invisible. It was later after I was hospitalized and left the camp that I got to know that her name is Ria.She's the one who noticed I was missing. She's the one who saved my life, even though it was too late to save me from the wheelchair.“Ria,” I smile at her, fighting back the tears that are suddenly forming in my eyes. “Thank you. It's nice meeting you again.”“Again?” She blinks, confused. “Have we met before? And why are you thanking me? I haven't done anything yet.”Before I can say anything, a loud, mocking laugh suddenly cuts through the air behind me.“Well, well, well. Look what we have here.”I turn, and my blood instantly runs cold.Yvonne Moore. The slimy pompous bitch who got a gold card and treated everyone else in the VIP as if we meant shit to her. She's tall—at least six feet—with a muscular

DAISYSighing, I bend, picking up my flamethrower and my backpack.“Let's go.”We move out again, and this time we are more careful. Even my senses are on high alert, as high as they can ever be while I'm currently in my human form. Also, I've noticed that no drones have followed us since we entered the Gravewood, and I guess it's because the canopy is too thick here, or because they're all waiting at the center where the banners are, already prepared to capture the drama of the teams fighting over them. For now, how to get to that center is a problem.Anyway, as we keep moving, we get to an area along the way and there, we find wild blackberries growing near a stream. We gather what we can, filling our bags with the berries and also fetching some clean water from the stream before we keep moving.Frankly, the search is getting tiresome. I don't know how many hours we've walked, but I can tell from the heated sun that the afternoon is at its peak and that soon, evening is going to fol

DAISYThe other rope snaps. And suddenly, the bridge is collapsing fast, the ropes now severed on both sides.“RIA!” I run forward without thinking, launching myself on the edge of the falling bridge and instantly catching her wrist just as she's about to fall. The bridge retaliates by swinging violently with the force of my added weight and slamming us into the cliff face.Ria cries out in pain.“I've got you!” I yell, enduring the painful stretch of my arm muscles and holding onto her with everything I have. Kayleigh and the others are already behind me, grabbing my legs and pulling me backwards as I lift Ria too.And a few seconds later, the both of us are finally back on solid ground, collapsing beside each other and breathing hard.“Ria are you okay?” I ask in ragged breaths.“My ankle,” she whimpers. And when I look, I see it's already swelling.Fuck.“My backpack. There's a first aid kit in it,” I demand. Seconds later, Sloane shoves the kit into my hands.Quickly, I open the k

That bitch is not the same girl she was before. I'm sure something about her has changed.”“You're just being paranoid right now,” I chuckle in a teasing voice to calm her down, though there was something in Daisy's eyes earlier that I couldn't quite put my finger on.“Are you really s
