I rushed into the bedroom, panic making it difficult for me to think straight as I reached Iris and touched her. Her skin was burning up, her lips were dry. Shit. "Iris." I shook her slightly. Her head rolled back and forth, but she didn't move or give any indication that she would hear me. I rushed to the bathroom and turned on the faucets of the bathtub, filling it with cold water. I'd take Iris to the pack hospital, but I knew there wasn't much they could do for her. There was no cure for heat. My heart pounding, I returned to the bedroom, and pulled Iris into my arms, carrying her into the bathroom. The tub was about halfway filled, so I gently placed her into the water. Knowing that skin to skin contact with me would help also, I got into the bathtub with her, positioning myself behind her and pulling her to me.
