ANNELISE POV I slowly sat up on my bed, the realization of what I saw last night kicking in, my heartbeat quickened as fragmented memories flooded back with painful clarity. The blood, the lifeless body lying in the middle of the road, those unnatural golden eyes fixated on me. I squeezed my eyes shut, hoping it had all been some twisted nightmare brought on by exhaustion, but the faint scent of cedar and smoke lingering in the room reminded me it had all been real.Slowly, I forced myself to look around. The bedroom was breathtaking. Sunlight poured through towering windows bathing polished marble floors in a warm glow, cream colored walls were adorned with expensive artworks, and every piece of furnishing looked as though it belonged in a luxury magazine. Fresh flowers sat in crystal vases, their sweet fragrance softening the room’s otherwise cold elegance. For a moment, I almost forgot where I was. The illusion shattered the moment my eyes landed on the heavy steel lock bolted to t

ANNELISE POVLying to my mother was where I drew the line, but I couldn’t do nothing, I was helpless. My fate was in his hands and I wasn’t sure I wanted to die or feel any sort of pain. The emotional trauma was enough. The chill night air blew, dispersing my hair in all directions and obstructing my eyes as I leaned on the railing of the balcony. How was it so easy to fool my mother? My mom has always had a strange instinct when something wasn’t right, how did he get her to be so ignorant about my whereabout?I felt more trapped than ever.I looked around the huge compound, there were men patrolling the mansion, I assumed they were body guards.I hissed and tucked the tiny strands of my hair obstructing my view behind my ears. The realization that I was literally the only human in this part of the world weighed in my heart, I wasn’t safe… I didn’t feel safe at all.I felt his presence behind me, he didn’t need to speak, his strong cologne announced him.He gently walked towards me an

ANNELISE POVI took a deep breath as I rested my back on the tricycle seat, I was going back to the mansion alone, Cassius had cut my little moment of relief short because of a pack emergency that needed him.My emotions were all over the place, I didn’t understand what I felt anymore.I shouldn’t like him, I shouldn’t care about him or have any sort of soft spot for him, but yet I felt empty when he left.My little moment with him at the vineyard showed me a different side of him, a vulnerable side of him.His parents abandoning him at such a young age must have broken him. I could hear the hesitation in his voice when I asked him about them, the hate lacing out his tone as he told me the little I needed to know.I suddenly wasn’t scared of him anymore, I was worried about him. How much feelings he must have been concealing all these years.“Ma’am… Ma’am…” The driver called, snapping his fingers at me and bringing me back to earth. “Sorry for interrupting your thoughts, we have arriv

ANNELISE POVTwo Months had passed since the night I lost my freedom, since I last saw my mother physically and since I left my life behind to start a new strange one.I was officially a cage princess, Alpha Cassius made sure I never had a reason to leave my room unless it was with him. He made sure I had everything I needed, my little coquette styled room was my sanctuary, and I was starting to get used to being alone or with Alpha Cassius everyday. The days he wasn’t around were my worse days, that was how dependent I was to him, he made sure I had enough sketching pad and paints to keep me busy, he didn’t allow me own a phone and I was already used to living without a phone. He had maids at my beck and call, I was very comfortable but on his own terms. My feelings for him were starting to change in ways that I hated to accept, I was no longer scared of him, but I was scared without him around.I was still his captive, but I didn’t want to be saved, I wanted to be with him, I liked t

CASSIUS VALE POVThe Jet was ready, it was 5am and cold outside, the air hostesses helped with our multiple luggage’s as we walked towards the Jet.Annelise clung beside me wearing my thick sweatshirt with her hair packed up in a messy bun, she looked so little in my sweatshirt, so cute that I could cuddle her all day long.“Fun fact…” she said as we climbed the stairs of the jet.“Tell me, Sweetness.” I replied as I led her to a seat.“This would be my first flight ever.” She said, letting out a small laugh.I gave a loop sided smile, shaking my head. “Trust me, I know, Sweetness.” I replied as she rolled her eyes sassily.I felt the engines start revving up and I quickly buckled my seatbelt and signaled Anne to do the same.Few minutes later, we were settled up in the sky. I smiled as I watched Anne’s reactions to the sky, I had expected her to be aviophobic, but she was surprisingly calm and enjoying the window seat.“Good day, Sir, Good day, Ma’am. Would you like to have anything?
