Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Ice Alpha's Mate: Kabanata 71 - Kabanata 80

ARIA"What're you—"Ryder doesn't even give me a chance to finish my sentence. He pushes me into one of the empty stalls and then closes the door before locking it.I watch him wide-eyed the entire time."What're you doing!?""What does it look like I'm doing?" he shoots back. "I know what you're thinking and I want you to know that it's not that. It isn't any of that."My mind pushes the shock I felt at seeing him with his fiancée to the back of my mind and I focus on what's happening right now. I clench my jaw, allowing my anger and jealousy to wash over me. Because the truth? I am jealous. I don't even trust how angry I am right now. This is the kind of anger that would make me do something really, really stupid."I don't think you should be in here. Someone could walk in on us and—"Frustrated, he says, "Don't change the subject, Aria. Don't do this. For the love of the goddess, don't do this to me. Don't act this way.""You're the one who's making me act this way," I inform him c

ARIAThis dinner had to be the worst of all time.Saying this makes me feel so bad because I know how much effort Uncle Barty put into this whole event. Cassandra, too. They were genuinely excited and I feel like I just poisoned the festive mood with my negative, jealous energy.I looked over at their table and saw that they were gone. This happened after several minutes of me trying not to look their way. I didn't want to make anyone at my table suspicious about what I was doing, and I had to pay attention to Tyler, who sat down with us while his parents were on the other table, waiting, just to say hi.I was so scared of Ryder walking up to our table and causing a scene. I know how much he hates Tyler. Even in the beginning, before we admitted our feelings to one another, he didn't like his teammate.I keep remembering the day when Ryder left him behind when he had a flat tire. He drove me to the beach that day, even though he didn't have to.It's crazy for me to think about how far

ARIAIt's around five in the morning when I feel Ryder shaking me awake. My eyes are burning and I feel so exhausted that I want to ignore him and go back to sleep."Aria," he says. "I have to go."My eyes suddenly spring open and I climb off the bed. My room is still dark, and I look around disoriented while he puts his clothes on. He's watching me with a humorous gleam in his eyes. He whispers, "You okay?"I nod, rubbing my eyes.I step out of my room first to make sure the coast is clear. Then, Ryder follows me toward the door. It doesn't even cross my mind that a neighbor could be watching this happen and will later tell my uncle. Right now, that's just not my concern. When we reach the door, he turns around and tells me, "Promise me you're not mad at me anymore."I can't help but smile at this. "I'm not.""Promise?"I nod. "I promise."He kisses me softly, then starts running down the street. His car's probably parked somewhere else. I watch him for a bit, then close the door. Un

ARIAI find myself in Hugo's, the new place opening, on Friday night.I didn't get a chance to tell Ryder. Tyler said it's a place where the high-ranking members of the pack don't want to come, so I'm more relaxed, and I'm not too worried that Ryder will find out.Maybe this is a terrible idea, but I didn't find it in me to tell him. It's not that I'll be doing anything bad anyway. Tyler is nice. Besides, I do get tired of staying indoors all the time. I wanted to cancel, then decided against it.I mean, would it be fair for Ryder to keep me from having friends when he's engaged to someone else and occasionally even takes her to dinner? It's not that I'm doing this out of pettiness. I don't want to hurt him or cause a fight.I just want to have some fun."Nice place, huh?" he comments before we head inside. "I like the sign."The whole theme of the place is red and black, and when we head inside, I'm surprised by how loud the music is, and how the lights are all red. It's so hard to s

RYDERI'm standing by the entrance of the main hall, just waiting for Aria.Where is she? What happened to her over the weekend? I've been trying to call her nonstop, and she just doesn't pick up. Then, her phone was off, and it made me even more worried.I was so close to going to her uncle's to find out how she was, but I managed to control myself. If I don't see her today, I won't care about any of that. I'll walk right up to him and ask him how she is, or where she is. I have this bad feeling in my chest. It's like there's a hole in my heart or something.I felt it on Saturday and the feeling hasn't left me since.Another thing that hasn't abandoned me is the damned headache. Fuck, I don't remember Friday at all. I remember heading inside the bar with the team, and then it all went black. I woke up on Saturday in my dorm room. Somehow, I managed to get there without remembering. How much did I drink? The guys were laughing at me when I woke up, telling me I was a beast and that th
